Green tourism is on the right course,<br />
out of the niche market - but we also<br />
have to raise awareness right across<br />
the sector. Reisepavillon plays its<br />
part: the multifarious holidays and<br />
projects at the 2004 fair show another<br />

Conservation (BfN) champions naturefriendly,<br />
sustainable tourism development.<br />
<strong>The</strong> central concern is to pro-<br />

tect ecologically sensitive areas and<br />
also open them to visitors. This is<br />
why the BfN is supporting Reisepavillon<br />
again, funding model projects like<br />
implementing the 'European Charter<br />
for Sustainable Tourism in Protected<br />
Areas' and influencing tourism policy.<br />
We must retain biodiversity and care<br />
for the uniqueness and beauty of the<br />
landscape, guarantee environmental<br />
quality and save resources if tourism<br />
is to remain profitable.<br />
