um 9 Uhr, saßen 21 geladene
Kunden, 16 SASCO
Mitarbeiter und ein Vertreter
des Hersteller-Partners
Microchip bei strömenden
Regen auf der Tribüne des
Salzburgrings, um Marcel
Engels (DMSB Formel Renault
Cup 2002), den von
SASCO gesponsorten jungen
Nachwuchsfahrer, anzufeuern.
Marcel startete bei regennasser
Fahrbahn von Platz
5. Mit einem guten achten
Platz und 26,565 Sekunden
Rückstand zum Erstplazierten
hielt er sich entschlossen
auf der Strecke; immerhin
verlangten die mehr als
ungünstigen Wetterverhältnisse
den Formel Renault
Piloten alles an Können ab.
Von 30 Startfahrzeugen kamen
19 ins Ziel.

vor und nach dem Rennen

fühlten sich die Kunden
sichtlich wohl. Einige Fans
ließen es sich nicht nehmen
sich auch in den Rennwagen
zu zwängen; manch
Hartgesottenen trieb es immer
wieder raus auf die Tribüne,
um auch die anderen
Rennen wie Alfa 147 Cup,
Clio Cup, DTC, Formel VW,
V8 Star zu sehen.

SASCO customers brave the elements
on the Salzburgring
On Sunday morning at
9 o’clock punctually, 21 invited
customers, 16
SASCO people and one
representative of the supplier
partner Microchip
could be found on the Salzburgring
bleachers despite
of the pouring rain, to keep
their fingers crossed for
Marcel Engels, the young
racing driver sponsored by
SASCO (DMSB Formel Renault
Cup 2002).
Marcel started from position
5 on a slippery wet lane.
With a good eighth po-
sition and 26.565 seconds
arrear of the winner he unflinchingly
stayed on the
track; after all, the more
than challenging conditions
demanded a great deal
from the Formula Renault
pilots. 19 out of 30 vehicles
actually reached the
finishing line.
Shortly before and after the
race, the guests had the
opportunity to really take a
look behind the curtain.
They obviously enjoyed
their talks with Marcel and
Bernhard Engels as well as
the rest of the team. Some
even insisted on forcing
themselves into the narrow
racing car; some hardboiled
ones where magically
drawn to the bleachers, in
order to also watch the
other races like Alfa 147
Cup, Clio Cup, DTC, Formula
VW, V8 Star.
