Sehr geehrte Gärtner Kollegen,
biennials form an important market segment for many of you. Creating sufficient
added value so that we can retain our position and secure our future in a global
market presents a major challenge for our companies. Besides annually optimizing
our assortment, we at Raes continue to invest in innovation and to search for ways
to use existing products creatively.
For primroses this task is carried out by the breeding team of ‘Raes Genetics’,
a brand that is becoming a household name in the primrose market. Every year it
succeeds in developing qualitative and innovating products and in reaching high
quality standards in the standard primrose series. This year is no exception. Again
we will present you some unique novelties which are not only innovating as far
as colour concerns, like ‘Chameleon’, but also because of the larger pot sizes in
which these varieties can be grown.
In the viola assortment we are expanding the small-flowered ‘Butterfly’ series with
three new colours. ‘Antique Shades’ is truly a niche colour. Extensive spring and
autumn trials allow us to further optimize and expand the ‘Prim Up’ and ‘Carrera’
series. The autumn assortment is perked up with our remarkable ‘Felix Mix’.
The same drive for innovation and creativity can be found in the rest of our Biennial
assortment. ‘Myosotis Savoie Boreal’ is introduced as the new ‘Aurora Borealis’
colour. ‘Boreal’ is the first Myosotis with blue-pink shades available on the market
and was awarded the Fleuroselect quality label ‘Approved Novelty’.
The Bellis assortment is further enriched with ‘Bellina Red Bicolour’ and ‘Melbella
Salmon’, two novelties that were also awarded the ‘Approved Novelty’ label.
And last but certainly not least we also want to draw your attention to the newly
introduced ‘Ranunculus Sprinkles’ series. A real beauty!
We hope that this leaflet can offer you some inspiration for the coming biennial
season and that you can expand your existing assortment with the novelties
presented here.
zweijährige Frühjahrsblüher ist für viele ein wichtiger Markt. Unsere große
Herausforderung ist es, in diesem Markt Produkte mit Mehrwert, auch in Zukunft,
zu erzeugen um uns in den globalen Märkten zu behaupten. Neben der stetigen
Verbesserung des Standardsortimentes investieren wir in Produktinnovationen und in
Kreativität für unsere bestehenden Produkte.
Das Primelsortiment wird von unserem Züchtungsteam unter dem Markennamen
“Raes Genetics” geführt, welcher im Primelmarkt immer bekannter wird. Jedes Jahr
gibt es neue Züchtungserfolge die unsere Innovationskraft bei Standard- wie auch bei
Spezialsorten unterstreichen. So auch in diesem Jahr! Wir freuen uns ihnen einige
außergewöhnliche Neuheiten präsentieren zu können wie z.B. ‘Chameleon’ die nicht
nur eine innovative Farbe hat, sondern auch über einen Wuchs verfügt um sie in
größeren Töpfen, mit Mehrwert zu vermarkten.
Zu unserem Mini-Violen Sortiment der ‘Butterfly’ Serie werden drei neue Farben
hinzugefügt, wobei ‘Antique Shades’ eine Nischenfarbe ist. Durch regelmäßigen
Versuchsanbau im Herbst wie im Frühjahr ist es uns gelungen auch die bestehenden
großblumigen Viola Serien ‘Carrera’ und ‘Prim Up’ zu optimieren. Das Herbstsortiment
wird mit der neuen ‘Felix Mix’ attraktiver.
Innovationen gibt es auch im restlichen Frühjahrs Programm, so unsere neue
zweifarbige Myosotis ‘Savoie Boreal’, die erste blau-rosa Myosotis am Markt. Sie wurde
mit dem Fleuroselect “ Approved Novelty” ausgezeichnet.
Auch das Bellis Sortiment wird mit den zwei neuen Sorten ‘Bellina Red Bicolour’ und
‘Melbella Salmon’ aufgewertet. Auch diese beiden Sorten wurden mit dem Fleuroselect
“Approved Novely” ausgezeichnet.
Und zum Schluß möchten wir sie noch auf die neu eingeführte Ranunkel Serie
‘Sprinkles’ aufmerksam machen die durch homogenen Wuchs besticht.
Wir hoffen dass diese Broschüre ihnen für die nächste zweijährige Saison Inspiration
gibt um Neues zu testen und Bewährtes aus zu bauen.

“Ecologically and economically responsible”: With our genetically compact varieties
we try to create a win-win situation for the whole supply chain. The grower can grow these
varieties with a limited use of growth regulators and energy and benefit from healthy, strong
flowers and less yellow leaves. Qualities that of course serve an ecological purpose as well.

Die ‘Butterfly’ Serie ist eine früh und sehr reich blühende Cornuta-Serie mit kompaktem und gut
verzweigtem Wuchs. Durch ihre einheitlichen, kräftigen Pflanzen hebt sich die ‘Butterfly’-Serie gegenüber

The large-flowered ‘Prim Up’ was developed
especially for flowering under short-day
conditions. The plants are characterized by
having a well branched, compact plant habit
and flowers on short stems that flower over
a longer period of time. In recent years great
progress was made in the development
of new colours with blotch. Varieties such
as ‘Yellow Blotch’ and ‘Orange Blotch’ are
exceptional in the viola assortment. ‘Prim Up’
also offers various unique ‘Clear Colors’.
Among these our ‘Dark Blue’, a colour you
will not find in any other series. ‘Prim Up
Red Yellow’ is the best bicolour of its kind.
‘Prim Up Specials’ are really special: ‘Bimbo

‘Blue Yellow Splash’ is a gem that blooms on
