[Kun:st] Art Prize 2017
Kunst Stuttgart International e.V., headquartered in Stuttgart, is a non – profit international
art association founded in 2015 and counts in April 2017 176 members from more than 10
countries. Important objectives of the association are to present the artworks of its
members at national and international level, to provide each member with personal support
and artistic advancement and both together to accompany and enhance artists in their
professional self marketing.
In order to support these objectives, [Kun:st] International organizes its first and open art
competition for artists from Germany and abroad, independently of a membership in the
association. The [Kun:st] Art Prize Contest was launched under the theme Project Peace and
the exhibition of the artists nominated for the [Kun:st] Art Prize exhibition in May / June
2017 is the beginning and embedded in a broader cycle on this topic, continuing with an
exhibition Project Peace at the Elizabethtown College, Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, USA,
in September 2017 and will be completed in late spring 2018 with an exchange exhibition
Project Peace of the Elizabethtown College in Stuttgart.
The [Kun:st] Art Prize is divided into three categories: Painting, Graphics / Digital Media /
Photography and three dimensional artwork. In order to nominate the winners, a fivemember
jury selected 50 artworks for the [Kun:st] Art Prize exhibition on the basis of the
artistic quality and the recognizable reference to the competition theme. These selected
works can be found in this exhibition catalog. The [Kun:st] Art Prize is awarded in each of
the three categories. In addition, a public voting [Kun:st] Art Prize is awarded.
The board of [Kun:st] International and the jury congratulate the participants of the
exhibition for being part of this special occasion and wish them all the best for their further
artistic and personal journey.
