said that the new trams had
an important role to play in
increasing capacity on the network.
The 39 m long two-section
bidirectional cars are based
on a modular design and offer
a spacious interior thanks to a
width of 2 650 mm. Passengers
can look forward to air-conditioning,
easy movement along
the wide central gangway and
a comfortable ride on the 1 435
mm gauge air suspension bogies.
LED lighting helps to ensure
an attractive interior.
Each car offers 106 seats and
space for 146 standing passengers
at a density of 4/m 2 ; there
are two pairs of double doors
on each side of each section.
Power at 750 V DC is fed to
eight 130 kW traction motors,
giving the ability to climb the
steep grades found in Stuttgart
— the steepest is 8.6%.
Maximum speed is 80 km/h.
Styled by Herbert Lindinger,
the cars are in keeping with
the image of public transport
in Stuttgart and offer continuity
with the design of trams
already in service.

39 Meter langen, modular aufgebautenZweirichtungsfahrzeuge
bestehen aus zwei Sektionen.
Sie bieten mit 2.650 mm
Breite ein geräumiges Inneres.
Die Fahrgäste dürfen sich auf
Klimatisierung, durchgängige
Fahrgasträume mit breitem
Durchgang zwischen den Wagenteilen
und bequeme Fahrt
auf luftgefederten Drehgestellen
mit 1.435 mm Spurweite
freuen. Eine LED-Beleuchtung
hilft, das Innere angenehm zu
machen.
Jeder Wagen bietet 106 Sitzplätze
und bis zu 146 Stehplätze
sowie je zwei Doppeltüren
auf beiden Seiten jedes Wagenteils.
Acht 130 kW-Fahrmotoren,
gespeist mit 750 V DC,
erlauben es, die steilen Stuttgarter
Strecken (bis zu 86 ‰)
zu befahren. Die Höchstgeschwindigkeit
