Working together since 1995, the French-Italian artists Marie Cool Fabio Balducci
present a series of pieces that capture a simple moment while flirting with the banal
and the mundane. Still, the pieces are not actions of everyday life since they do not
relate to a lived experience or to a systematic reproductibility of routine behavior. The
painstakingly precise choreography rather alludes to mathematical equations. The
triangle, the circle, the square, the rectangle are the forms in which the pieces are
articulated. Still, if on one hand the works could be seen as simple experiments carried
out in a lab, on the other the scientific impulse is negated as no attempt is made to
arrive at any kind of result, neither is there the necessity to demonstrate an assumption.
A possible discovery leaves place to evidence.
