Another highlight is the debut performance of “Sleeping
Beauty” for children by Dieter Kempe on the 25th of March 2012.
The staging of comedies such as “ Charlies Aunt” by Thomas
Brandon (opening night 30 Dec 2011) and Sean O’Caseys “ The
end of the beginning” (opening night 24 March 2012) are part
of the theatre schedule, so is the play “Adam’s Apples” after
the corresponding movie – a grotesque by Danish director and
screenwriter Anders Thomas Jensen (from 16 Sept 2012). Classics
such as Brecht’s “Life of Galilei” (opening night 15 Oct 2011),
“Faust-The Second Part of the Tragedy” by Goethe (opening
night 2 March 2012) and “Romeo and Juliet” by Shakespeare

Die Compagnie de Comédie ist als freie Bühne eine weitere
Klangfarbe des professionellen Rostocker Theaters.
Die Höhepunkte / Highlights:
26.05.-02.09.2012 Sommertheater am Kloster u. a. mit „Ben Hur“

cabaret competition “Rostock’s Koggenzieher”
(opening night 17 of March 2012) are part of the program,
too. Bronislav Roznos, chief choreographer and head of the
dance theatre of Rostock, even stages three premieres which
are „1st Danceworks with Orchestra“ (from 24 September
2011), “Primary affect – human basic feelings” (from 31
March 2012) and “Summer affairs” (from 23 June 2012).
The popular philharmonic concerts as well as various small
and large special concerts of the North German Philharmonic
Orchestra Rostock are also part of the varied repertoire
of the Volkstheater Rostock.
Sie bietet einem breiten Zuschauerkreis Unterhaltsames,
Spannendes, Nachdenkliches und Heiteres.
Zum Repertoire des Ensembles gehören Schauspielproduktionen,
Klassiker, Märchen sowie Kabarett- und Schlagerprogramme.
Die Compagnie spielt in der „Bühne 602” im
Rostocker Stadthafen und organisiert hier auch zahlreiche
attraktive Gastspiele und Konzerte. So gibt es Anfang März
erneut Kabarett beim Wettbewerb um den „Rostocker
Koggenzieher”.
Ende Januar treffen sich die Freien Theater Mecklenburg-
Vorpommerns in Rostock zum „Spiellust-Festival”. Openair
präsentiert sich die Theatergruppe beim Sommertheater
am Kloster zum Heiligen Kreuz.
The independent theatre, Compagnie de Comédie, adds a
further delightful aspect to Rostock’s professional theatres,
offering entertaining, exciting, thought-provoking and lively
performances to a wide audience.
The ensemble’s repertoire includes plays, classics, fairy tales,
cabaret and pop-culture productions. The “Compagnie” performs
at “Bühne 602” in Rostock’s city harbour and organises
an abundance of attractive guest performances and concerts
- including a cabaret competition, “Rostock’s Koggenzieher”, at
the beginning of March. Mecklenburg-Vorpommern’s independent
theatres meet at the “Spiellust festival” in Rostock at the
end of January. During the summer months, the theatre group
performs open-air at the Zum Heiligen Kreuz convent.
