Pfefferminze entstand durch eine<br />
zufällige Kreuzung von Bach- und<br />
Waldminze und wurde 1696 in<br />
England entdeckt. Sie wird sowohl<br />
als Heilpflanze geschätzt, als auch<br />
wegen des frischen Geschmacks, der<br />
auf den hohen Anteil an Menthol im<br />
ätherischen Minzöl zurückzuführen<br />
ist. <strong>Edel</strong> verwendet für viele<br />
Pfefferminzbonbons das besonders<br />
hochwertige und edle „Mitcham<br />
Pfefferminzöl“.<br />
