„I WANT I WANT NOT is a cycle of artworks about the wants and want nots of the human race;<br />
both individually and collectively. It is human nature to want and not want, in varying degrees of<br />
longing. To which extent do we want or not want something? Do we ever reflect on what the consequences<br />
are, of wanting and not wanting something?<br />
In the first painting of this cycle, I have chosen »Wisdom« as the start of everything, as wisdom<br />
influences our wants and want nots. Wisdom is symbolized by the color blue and the owl. The graphic<br />
hands are the human race, wanting in varying degrees reflected by the varied blue tones. The<br />
realistic hand, with partially out stretched fingers, reminiscent the consideration of wanting or<br />
not wanting.<br />
Is life better when we have lots of wisdom, or is life simpler and happier when we do not know<br />
everything?<br />
We make our own harmony by balancing what we want and not want.”<br />
