Holzfaser-Verbundwerkstoffe werden bei
Johnson Controls (Firma Deutsche Fibrit
Gesellschaft) bereits seit den 1950er Jahren
für Produkte im automobilen Innenraum
eingesetzt. Der Werkstoff hat sich
bewährt, denn er ermöglicht einerseits die
Erstellung eines leichten Bauteils, das die
vollen funktionalen Eigenschaften gemäß
Spezifikationen besitzt. Andererseits bietet
der Werkstoff in umweltpolitischer
Hinsicht Vorteile, da Ressourcen geschont
Usually, anybody can identify two applications
for cork: wine-bottle stoppers and
cork agglomerates for surface coverings.
Some might identify more specific applications,
such as champagne corks, floor and
wall coverings, shoe soles, engine gaskets
and thermal insulation. An expert would
add the new hybrid stoppers, acoustic and
vibration insulation, use in the badminton
“shuttlecock” or in balls (cricket, hockey),
expansion joints and underlays. The specialist
will also identify its use as insulation
on missiles, rockets and submarines, special
containers, upholstery corkleather manufacture
and many others.
JOHNSON CONTROLS: NATURFASER-
VERSTÄRKTE VERBUNDWERKSTOFFE
FÜR DEN AUTOMOBILEN INNENRAUM
– EINE ERFOLGSGESCHICHTE
Natural and Wood Fibre Composites and Bioplastics for the Automobile
Interior – a Success Story
Dach himmelsysteme, Integrierte Innenausstattungen, Innenraumelektronik,
elektrisches Energiemanagement und Autobatterien.
werden und der CO 2 -Ausstoß minimiert
wird.
Ebenfalls kommen bereits seit den 60er
Jahren Kokosfasern in Verbindung mit
Latex für Sitzpolster (Firma Naue) zum
Einsatz. In den 80er Jahren folgte für Interieurbauteile
die Verwendung von alternativen
Naturfasern wie Flachs- und
Sisalfasern, auch jeweils in Verbindung mit
thermoplastischen oder duroplastischen
Harzsystemen. In den 90iger Jahren vervollständigten
Hanf- und Kenaffasern die
Einsatzpalette der Naturfasern.
Im Beitrag werden die Auswahlkriterien für
naturfaserverstärkte Bauteile vorgestellt.
Eingegangen wird auf Forderungen zu Verfügbarkeit,
Qualität und den Emissionskenndaten
dieser Werkstoffe. Kriterien für
eine auch zukünftig positive Entwicklung
dieser Werkstoffklasse werden diskutiert.
AMORIM GROUP: CORK – FROM A
TRADITIONAL PRODUCT TO A MODERN
MATERIAL FOR BUILDING AND INDUSTRY
Kork – vom Traditionsprodukt
zum modernen Baustoff und Werkstoff für die Industrie
Although the image of cork is intimately linked with wine-bottle stoppers, the
uses for this natural prime material do not stop here. On the contrary, the unique
characteristics of cork allow unimaginable alternative uses.
Current applications of Amorim Cork
Composites’ production are:
• Rigid plates or sheets for moveable partitions,
door and furniture panels, with
technical or aesthetic characteristics different
from traditional materials.
• Flexible plates or sheets to be integrated
in wooden panels or other types of substrate,
improving the thermal and acoustic
response of the panel, or cut to work
as gaskets on engines.
• Flexible rolls, ideal for industrial uses,
with lengths up to 600 m in one coil.
After extensive Research and Development
work, Amorim cork Composites today is
promoting new products like:
• NRT series – a cork underlay with superior
acoustic performance using inherent
cork properties (thermal and acoustic).
• CoreCORK – a new type of agglomerated
cork for the composite industry.
• CPC – Cork Polymer Composite – a cork
based material with a thermoplastic binder
able to be processed with normal
thermoplastic equipment (injection and
extrusion). This was developed jointly
with Kunststoffe Müller GmbH.
• TPS – Thermal Protection Systems – a
cork based range of thermo set sheets,
ideal to be used in high temperature environments
(till 2000 °C).
