re’s been many times when the climate
is warmer than it is now. Small changes
by even one degree Celsius can make a
huge difference in Earth’s climate and can
even cause big problems for the future.
Scientists’ showed studies of how much
our temperature has changed in the years
following the last ice age. Which is about
4 to 7 degrees Celsius. In the past century
alone however, the temperature has climbed
by 0.7 degrees Celsius; this is roughly
ten times faster than the average rate of
ice-age-recovery warming. It normally
takes 5,000 years for the earth to warm
by 5 degrees but predictions say that this
will happen in only a century, this is a very
drastic change and very harmful to our climate
and environment.
Predictions for the next 100 years have
been pointing to ocean levels to rise due
to snow and ice melting in the poles, some
places becoming hotter and others getting
more snow with colder winters, some places
may get more rain some may get little
to no rain.
Now climate change can be caused by
many things such as, volcanic eruptions
and changes in the ocean. Nearly all
scientists say that people also cause climate
change and there aren’t any studies
to show otherwise. From what I could find,
People cooking food, driving cars, heating
and cooling their houses, using unclean
energy such as burning coal, oil and gas.
These activities and burning these elements
puts gas in the air creating pollution
which causes the heat to get trapped
which, in the end, causes climate change.
To help fight against climate change scientists
recommend using less energy and
water, turning off any electronics you are
not using, picking up any garbage you see
and finally, you can plant a few trees.
