The Manor Mill Wheel<br />
The Manor Mill Wheel is situated<br />
between the Manor Mill Shopping Centre<br />
and Maynooth Castle. It was built to<br />
commemorate the fact that a real mill<br />
once stood here.There's an interesting<br />
display board beside it giving a run down<br />
on the history of the old mill, the first<br />
recorded listing of the existence of mills<br />
on the site being in 1328 and it was<br />
owned and run from 1830 up until the 1990’s by the<br />
Kavanagh family. The Mill Wheel can be found on a terrace<br />
behind the shopping mall by the stream facing the<br />
picturesque ruin of Maynooth Castle.
