Please give a short link about your
U.S.T.A. records with energetic, real-
musical history, who you are ... and
I have only heard some tracks of
ly massive and a bit dark music.
when did you start into music?
your new album "Free Fall". "Sea
Newer productions like "Slow Me
We are Lish - Lior Maimon & Shay
Side Hills" sounds like finest
Away" on Feio's first "The Natural
Tiab, we are 25 years old and both
Swedish progressive trance with
Waves Of Sound" compilation and
live in Israel. We started making
some smooth Israeli melodies on
the beautiful remix to Vibrasphere's
music together 1995 and our first
top. Where do you get these
"Elephant" are pretty different.
release was in the year 2001 "Under
influences from?
Why?
Wicked Sky".
Hehe, I think you already have the
When we started our way as artists
We started to listen to trance music
answer inside the question.
our influences were really different
when we were at the age of 14. After
We like most of the Swedish
from today. We used to listen to
one year we got a sequencer called
progressive bands like Son Kite,
Atmos, X.Dream, Noma and more
stream tracker and then we started to
Vibrasphere, Ticon.
stuff like this. Three years after our
play with it and to make sounds from
And also tracks from Antix, Freq,
it. After five further years it was
obvious for us that we should work
in a professional way, we sent some
demos and immediately started to
work with U.S.T.A. records.
In February 2002 we released our
debut album "Dejavoodoo". It was
different kind of music that came
from Israel and people really liked
it. Since then we played at trance
parties all over the world, released
few tracks on different compilations
and now the 2nd album is out.
What's the meaning of your name?
The name Lish is made by the first
two letters of each first name. LIor
and SHay :-)
What's the concept of Lish? What's
the sense of a Lish track?
Lish music has inside of it a lot of different
grooves, from progressive
tunes up to powerful trance. We try
to combine European sounds of progressive
trance with Israeli sweeping
energies full of motions and psychedelic
elements.
The image I had of Lish before was
one of a cool and deep techno
trance band. I know your releases on
first
album we grew up, we work with
different equipment and we open
to a lot of new styles like tech
house, tribal, progressive trance,
psy trance, so this is why you can
find different styles between our
releases.
In northern Europe we were really
glad as progressive European trance
got connected to Israeli production
and energy from artists like
And also tracks from Antix, Freq,
Bitmonx, Haldolium and
more…
What's your feeling with the
album after it is finished? Still
glad with the result? What will
you do next?
We really believe in this album
cause it’s M U S I C, we made it
5
