Fruchtbare Gärten
The botanical gardens at Rombergpark originally belonged to the
Brünninghausen classicist moat castle that was owned by the von
Romberg family. In 1927, the family sold the castle and park to
the city of Dortmund. Richard Nose, Dortmund‘s first director of
gardens and cemeteries, oversaw the extension of the park to
include a botanical garden and arboretum. The wide meadow
valley of the Schondelle Brook lends an expansive ambience to
the park, which includes a substantial collection of shrubs. The
botanical garden features an extensive plant collection.
Les origines du jardin botanique du Rombergpark remonte à
l‘époque classique, où le château entouré d‘eau Brünninghausen
appartenait à la famille von Romberg. En 1927, la famille von
Romberg vendit la propriété et le parc adjacent à la ville de Dortmund.
Sous la direction de Richard Nose, directeur des jardins et
cimetières, on ajouta au parc un jardin botanique et un arboretum.
Les larges espaces, qui entourent le ruisseau Schondellenbach,
confèrent au parc et sa mutitude d‘espèces d‘arbres toute sa
grandeur. Le jardin botanique, quant à lui, bénéficie d‘une incroyable
collection de plantes.
