Multi-Million $$ Producers
From the Editor:
The cost of gas is driving us all to walk!
Goodness, with the miles that I put on my
car each month, I should own stock in the gas
companies. It’s just steadily rose all of the past
month. I drove over 1,000 miles just delivering
the magazine at the start of the month. That’s
a lot of gas. Even if my car got 50 miles to the
gallon, it’s still a lot of gas. I hate to see how
much it has gone up by the time this magazine
gets back from the printers.
If it keeps going up, I’m going to have to
sell ads at the same time that I’m delivering
the magazine. Sometimes making two and
three trips back to catch someone is just getting
spendier each month. I guess I shouldn’t
complain. It wouldn’t do any good anyway. And
since I didn’t win that Mega-Jackpot, I’ll just
keep on doing what I’m doing. Until I’m walking
at least. Then, I might just have to re-think
things!
It’s hard to believe it, but the Mushroom Festival
is this month. It seems like we just started
the new year, and it’s already April. Our Spring
Photo Contest is being held in conjunction
with the Mushroom Festival this year. We will
be displaying the top ten pictures at the festival
for all the visitors to enjoy. The winning photo
will be featured on our May front page, plus
you’ll win $100.00 in cash! Get your cameras
out because I’ve already received several entries.
There are more details in this book!
Spring has decided to come early to those
of us in Kentucky this year. It’s a tad-bit scary
because all of our flowers are coming up and
I’m afraid a big freeze will happen and kill
everything. Even scarier? The blueberries are
blooming. A freeze would wipe out the entire
crop.
I’m anxious to get out and work in my
garden this year. Last year, I was starting from
scratch. And although I’m not anywhere close
to where I want to be, it’s a bit prettier already
this year with things coming up. Our blackberries
are our main priority this spring. We hope
to get two rows transplanted from up at the
C2H2 Farm in the next week or so. Barring
any ‘unusual’ weather.
As I type this, all I am hearing is the hype on
the television about the University of Kentucky’s
big game tonight. I wish the magazine
was printing one day later - so I could congratulate
them when they win the NCAA
championship tonight. I hate to even say that,
for fear of jinxing things. But, man, what a team
they have this year. They have really gelled and
the players actually work together so good. I
kind of wish none of them would leave, so we
could do it again next season!
