In January Anke Stuken invited Gadi Rothenberg and Christopher Lowe to
UiO to course 40 PhD students, postdocs, and researchers. For a successful
career in research you must get your work published, read and cited. In
our Write it Right (WiR) workshops we learnt how to: Write clear technical
English, Structure our article effectively, Enhance titles and graphics to make
MERG research projects
The MERG on going research project
covers a wide range of areas
in microbial ecology and evolution.
here is a overview of the title of
the projects. further details of the
research content and the participating
teams are
described on MERG web pages.
• X-cell parasites: an emerging threat to marine fish.
• Population diversification and horizontal gene transfer processes in freshwater cyanobacteria: genomic and
ecological perspectives.
• Saxitoxin biosynthesis and genomics in organisms from two kingdoms - horizontal gene transfer or parallel
evolution?
• Biodiversity of marine eukaryotes (BioMarKs).
• Phylogenomic and single cell whole genome amplification of Radiolaria.
• Bioinformatics applications for evolutionary and ecologically high throughput sequence analysis.
