How You Can Help ♦ Be an Ambassador - On occasion, we are asked to give presentations and support fundraising events that require volunteers. Please consider volunteering when you can. If you are asked by a client’s family, your own friends or family, or someone else who is interested in supporting KidsAbility, please direct them to the Foundation Office. We will be happy to provide them with more information. ♦ Get Involved – The Foundation lends its assistance and expertise to the annual (internal) staff fundraising campaign (February/March). This campaign encourages all employees to support the “Kids Can’t Wait” Campaign. Your participation, not the amount of your donation, is what counts and sends a very powerful message to corporate and foundation donors that staff of KidsAbility also give financially to our organization. Imagine how increased private support can create more opportunities for our Centre and the children we serve.
STATEMENT OF MISSION KidsAbility Foundation is dedicated to raising both financial support and affirmative public awareness in assisting KidsAbility Centre for Child Development fulfill its mission of empowering children and youth with special needs to realize their full potential. STATEMENT OF VISION In fulfilling our mission, we will be respected for having: • established a wide-spread and well-earned reputation as an exemplary philanthropic organization • made a positive difference in our community enhancing the future of the children served by the Centre and the families who have entrusted them to us • raised sufficient funds for KidsAbility Centre for Child Development to fulfill its mission by meeting the needs of all those who have been referred to receive the services it offers • enhanced the awareness of the Centre as well as the respect and support for its services and, in so doing, extended its base of financial support to enable it to meet the needs of all those entrusted to it into the foreseeable future • established a reputation that will continue to attract a high-profile, diverse, collegial, convivial, and effective cadre of volunteers both to the Foundation’s Board and its support staff in order to ensure a productive future for the Foundation STATEMENT OF VALUES In realizing our mission and pursuing our vision, we are committed to: • being recognized as exemplary ambassadors for KidsAbility Centre for Child Development and its mission • proceeding with integrity in all of our transactions, both financial and interpersonal • respecting each of our stakeholders: the children entrusted to the Centre, their immediate and extended families, our staff, donors, colleagues, political representatives, and the like • respecting matters of confidentiality as well as the personal circumstances relative both to our donors and to our perspective donors • being accountable and transparent both with respect to the funds entrusted to us as well as the various activities undertaken by the Board of the Foundation • acting cooperatively in our dealings both within the Centre and beyond • assisting in the empowering of children with special needs and thereby the building of a strong community
