LACKAWANA COUNTY<br />
No suitable pleasure <strong>boating</strong> waters. However access available to<br />
Lake Sheridan, Crystal Lake <strong>and</strong> Chapman Lake, north of Montdale.<br />
LANCASTER COUNTY<br />
SUSQUEHANNA RIVER—Three power dams in <strong>Pennsylvania</strong><br />
<strong>and</strong> Maryl<strong>and</strong> sectioned the river into three widely used pleasure<br />
<strong>boating</strong> areas. They are: Conowingo Lake, formed by the Conowingo<br />
Dam; Lake Aldred, by the Holtwood Dam; <strong>and</strong> Lake Clarke, by<br />
Safe Harbor Dam.<br />
Lancaster County launching sites, from north to south, include:<br />
Bainbridge, foot of Race Street. (S-P)<br />
Marietta <strong>Boat</strong> Club. Limited to members. (S-P) There are areas<br />
where small craft can be launched from shore although this is difficult<br />
during low water.<br />
Columbia, Ream l<strong>and</strong>ing just north of Walnut Street. Limited<br />
parking facilities available. (S-C) Other launching areas privately<br />
owned or maintained by boat clubs.<br />
Pequea, Lawrence S. Prangely public ramp, just off Rt. 324, at<br />
mouth of the Pequea Creek. (S-P-C)<br />
Albright's marina, on opposite side of the Pequea CreeK offers<br />
hoist <strong>and</strong> surfaced ramp. Gasoline, oil <strong>and</strong> repairs availabl... Service<br />
charge use of facilities.<br />
Outboard <strong>Boat</strong> Club has mooring <strong>and</strong> launching facilities, plus<br />
parking, along the Pequea Creek limited to members only.<br />
Pequea <strong>Boat</strong> Club has access to the creek plus floating docks <strong>and</strong><br />
mooring area on the Susquehanna River, just south of the Pequea<br />
Creek. Use limited to members.<br />
<strong>Fish</strong>ing Creek, owned <strong>and</strong> operated by C. Merle Murphy, below<br />
Holtwood Dam on Lake Aldred. (B-P-GO-C) Hoist available out<br />
of boat house at the mouth of <strong>Fish</strong>ing Creek. Grocery store <strong>and</strong><br />
fishing supplies available nearby.<br />
Peach Bottom, at mouth of Peters Creek. (B-P-GO-C) Formerly<br />
known as Fowler's, now owned <strong>and</strong> operated by Murphy. Mooring<br />
available over the summer months. <strong>Fish</strong>ing good to excellent.<br />
