2012 HIGHLIGHTS
Stars and cars were once again
on display for the Chrysler Nationals.
Catherine Bach (Daisy
Duke) and Ben Jones (Cooter) represented
the iconic “The Dukes of
Hazzard” TV show throughout the
weekend, while Richard Petty spent
Sunday morning at Carlisle. In addition,
a great array of cars adorned
the showfi eld. Other popular attractions

Sports Suspensions. Just like GM,
an engine was up for grabs, and the
special displays wowed the crowd
for three straight days.
Bike Fest saw rain dampen
much of the weekend, but riders
turned out despite the wet weather.
Demo rides, live music and the
Monster Energy FreestyleMX.com
World Wide Tour highlighted the
weekend. In addition, a pair of bikes
was given away, as was a cruise. Enthusiasts
were able to shop for aftermarket
products and snag great
deals via onsite vendors including
Appalachian Harley-Davidson, who
once again established their dealer
mall within Building T. Given the
wet weather, this was a very popular
destination all weekend long.
Trucks of all shapes, sizes and
styles converged on Carlisle for
the Truck Nationals. There were
monster truck rides and exhibitions
featuring Big Foot, Virginia
Giant and Backdraft while Megasaurus
returned to wow the crowd
with its fi re-breathing antics. A very
popular attraction was that of the
Vanarama display courtesy of www.
CustomVan.com. Imaginations ran
wild with nearly two dozen vans of
varying styles. Further, the onsite
off -road course was a popular hot
spot for attendees looking to get a
little mud on the tires.
New in 2012 for Carlisle was the
Bloomsburg Nationals in Bloomsburg,
PA. This three-day event saw
nearly 1,000 cars of all types cruise
in for a great automotive-themed
weekend. In addition to the outstanding
array of cars, the event
off ered a swap meet, car corral and
special invitational display, along
with musical entertainment and
other fun activities like a wing eating
competition, slow drags, burnouts
and more. The Bloomsburg
Fair Association also hosted a bull
riding competition and live entertainment
at the grandstand. In addition,
the Sunday awards parade
boasted 100% participation of the
celebrity choice picks and also included
a Best-of-Show award.
