There was drifting onsite, a burnout competition, beauty contest and great displays like Kickin’ it Old Skool, the Scikotics Ward, interactive exhibitions and more. In all, the weekend displayed the best from the hobby. Just two weeks later, foreign cars were on full display with the Import & Kit Nationals. Show-goers went around the world as part of the second annual passport program while seminars and industry guests entertained the masses. Another great weather weekend brought enthusiasts out in droves, and scenic cruises, autocross and special downtown Carlisle displays and activities had everyone talking about this very special import weekend. Carlisle’s Summer of Muscle launched in June with a spectacular tribute to Carroll Shelby as part of the Ford Nationals. Nearly 3,000 vehicles laced the grounds, many of them Mustangs, to pay tribute to a man who gave so much to the industry. Representatives from SPEED TV, Barrett-Jackson Auctions and Team Shelby were onsite to recognize his accomplishments and interact with the thousands of en- thusiasts at Carlisle. Seminar tents were packed, as were the streets of downtown Carlisle for the second annual all-Ford parade and street party. The event was one of the biggest events of its type in the history of Carlisle, and excitement is building for next year’s gathering.
