This weekend, you’ll quickly learn that Fall Carlisle is the place for you to purchase automotive parts and accessories for upgrades, maintenance or restoration of your collector car. In addition, if you fancy automotivethemed memorabilia, there is a great array of that here too. Auctions America by RM returns, and they have a lot of great cars for auction. Preview the cars at the Carlisle Expo Center, then stop in on Thursday and Friday for the auction excitement. Speaking of cars, be sure to visit the car corral. Deal directly with the owner, and with onsite fi nancing, you can drive your new car home within hours. In closing, we have some company news to share. First, Carlisle Events is now involved with two events in Zephyrhills, FL. Zephyrhills Fall AutoFest and Winter AutoFest are just like Spring and Fall Carlisle. The fall event is November 8-11, 2012, and the winter gathering takes place February 21-24, 2013. Further, we’ve added a nonautomotive event to the schedule for 2013. Consider being part of the Carlisle Sports and Outdoor Nationals, September 6-8. Also added is an event in Bloomsburg, PA, that takes place each August. Vendors by Category WELCOME SO MANY TREASURES, SO LITTLE TIME With winter just around the corner, Fall Carlisle is the perfect place to fi nd the parts you need for your snowy-day project, or to sell extra parts you obtained over the summer. There’s nothing quite like a swap meet, especially at Carlisle, where there are over 150 acres of parts, over 8,000 vendor spaces, and hundreds of cars for sale. Chances are, if you’re looking for something specifi c for your project, you’ll be able to fi nd it with a little walking, a keen eye and some help from a few friends. But my favorite part about swap meets isn’t fi nding what you set out to fi nd. It’s fi nding what you didn’t expect when you weren’t really looking. Maybe you see a good set of bumpers for a ’68 Camaro instead of that cowl hood you were hunting, or a new set of stainless bed rails for a ’72 Chevy truck instead of a 750-cfm double pumper carb for your truck’s engine. Those parts weren’t at the top of your list of needs, but you still need them, and here they are, just waiting to go home with you. When I’m out hunting, I have to be careful not to get carried away — it just underlines why you should have a good list of needed items with you, and try to stick to it. A couple of other tips for the weekend: Get here early, as the best deals go fi rst. And be sure to walk through again on the last day for low prices on parts that sellers just can’t take home. Don’t be afraid to negotiate prices, and have friends help you hunt by spreading out — there’s just too much for one person to see in one day. A large and diverse selection of extraordinary vehicles and our Carlisle Expo Center are the ideal combination for a great selling environment. HAULING PARTS ••••••••••••••••••• To get items you’ve purchased to your vehicle, your options are: • Rent a heavy-duty hand cart at Guest Services (for a donation to Chip Miller Charitable Foundation) • Request hauling assistance at Guest Services (for a donation to Chip Miller Charitable Foundation) • Obtain a temporary entry pass to drive your vehicle onto the grounds. These are available at Gates 1, 2 or 3 in the late afternoon. MANUFACTURERS MIDWAY & SWAP MEET •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Visit our partners on the Manufacturers Midway and shop the swap meet. You’ll fi nd new product manufacturers, vintage accessories, parts and memorabilia. Vendors are listed by specialty and alphabetically in this directory. Financial services are available inside of Building T. CAR CORRAL •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• The car corral is where vendors off er vehicles only (no parts, etc.) for sale. Find classic to late-model vehicles in all varieties of make, model and condition. You can shop, compare and make the deal directly with the owner. Notary services, including temporary tags, are available in the offi ce between the pavilions. WORSHIP SERVICE ••••••••••••••••••••••••••• A non-denominational worship service is held at 9 a.m. Sunday morning in the grandstand. We invite you to join us for the service led by The Salvation Army, our partners-in-faith. Coff ee and donuts available. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend!
