Deadline dates are from 2011-12, Students MUST check the deadline as they change from<br />

year to year. Apply early and keep a copy for your files, in case, you apply for several awards.<br />

GROUP “A” – MURDOCH MACKAY COLLEGIATE STUDENTS ONLY<br />

* Students who want to be considered for one of the scholarships in this section must<br />

complete a GREEN <strong>School</strong> Awards Application Form available in the office; unless<br />

specified otherwise. Deadline May 14.<br />

ARTHUR F. KLINGBELL MATHEMATICS SCHOLARSHIP - TBD<br />

The Arthur F. Klingbell Scholarships are intended to recognize 2 graduating students from the community of<br />

<strong>Transcona</strong> who have the highest standing in Mathematics. One student from TCI and one from MMCI will be<br />

annually selected and awarded this scholarship.<br />

Criteria:<br />

� be a resident of <strong>Transcona</strong>, at least in his/her Grade 12 year<br />

� possesses leadership qualities; involvement in community and/or school activities, i.e. a “friend of youth”<br />

� highest standing in Math Pre Calculus<br />

� must provide proof of registration in a university program leading to a degree of his/her choice<br />

� Selection will be made by the school<br />

BOB LAND MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP - $500<br />

Criteria:<br />

� selected by the Vocational teachers<br />

� a student who through determination and a positive work ethic has overcome personal and educational<br />

difficulties, achieved success, turned his/her life around, and will be continuing in a related career<br />

� student will be applying to be an apprentice or attending post secondary<br />

CASERA CREDIT UNION LIMITED BURSARY – 2 @ $500<br />

� Based on financial need; community, school activities; and academic achievement<br />

� must be attending a post-secondary educational, professional, trade or vocational institution in fall<br />

Criteria:<br />

� Presented to the graduating student with the highest academic standing in a minimum of 5 Grade 12<br />

courses, at least 4 of which must be at the University entrance 40S/A level.<br />

� Nominees selected by <strong>School</strong> Administration.<br />

KONRAD SHANDRUK FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP – 2 @ $1,000 per year – can be accessed for up to 4 years<br />

to a maximum of $4,000 per student<br />

KYLE JOHNSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP – 1 @ $1000<br />

� an active member of an organized sports program at High <strong>School</strong> or in the community<br />

M.M.C.I. SILVER CELEBRATION AWARD - $500<br />

Criteria:<br />

� be a graduate of Murdoch MacKay Collegiate Institute<br />

� complete one full year of study at a post secondary institute of learning on his/her first attempt<br />

� accepted for a second year of study at a post secondary institute of learning, award payable to institute<br />

� Applicant’s history of involvement in school, community and work activities will be a major consideration<br />

of the Selection Committee.<br />
