I/O Pacing<br />
� I/O Pacing parameters can be used to prevent large I/O<br />
streams from monopolizing CPUs<br />
– System backups (mksysb)<br />
– DB backups (RMAN, Netbackup)<br />
– Software patch updates<br />
� When Oracle ClusterWare is used, use AIX 6.1 Defaults:<br />
– chgsys -l sys0 -a maxpout=8193 minpout=4096 (AIX 6.1 defaults)<br />
– nfso –o nfs_iopace_pages=1024 (AIX 6.1 defaults)<br />
– On the Oracle clusterware set : crsctl set css diagwait 13 –force<br />
• This will delay the OPROCD reboot time to 10secs from 0.5secs during node<br />
eviction/reboot, just enough to write the log/trace files for future diagnosis. Metalink<br />
