PRIZes anD aWaRDs linneborn Prize The European Linneborn Prize was established in 1994 for outstanding contributions to the development of energy from biomass. The Prize is named in honour of Johannes Linneborn, a pioneer of wood gasification. Deeply rooted in human ethics, he had far-reaching visions on the world’s development, on health, transport and agriculture. The Linneborn Prize will be awarded for the thirteenth time during the Conference Opening on Monday, 18 June 2012. eUbIa award The Board of Directors of EUBIA (European Biomass Industry Association) will present for the tenth time the EUBIA Award for the advancement of Biomass Industry. The winner will be a representative who, in the opinion of the Selection Committee, has made an outstanding contribution to the advancement of the Biomass industry and its market. awards for the best Visual Presentations One of the highlights of the Conference Closing Session is the awarding of the most outstanding Visual Presentations of each topic. A jury of experts judge the quality of the contents reported and the quality of the presentation. The awards will be announced and delivered as part of the Conference Closing Session on Friday 22 June 2012. The winners will be invited onstage and the winning posters will be projected. student awards The international Scientific Committee coordinated by David Baxter and Jean-Francois Dallemand, has nominated 5 candidates for the 20th EU BC&E Student Awards in recognition of their high level of achievement and contribution to their respective fields of research. The Awards will be delivered during the Conference Closing Session. The student awardees will be invited to make short summary presentations of their work. XXIV
