CD - The Complete Collection
HM 13922 NL
2CD. Thirty nine track compilation of one of Holland's oddest 60s beat groups. They played r'n'b pop rock
with fuzz guitars, wild vocals, tinges of European folk and weird orchestral flourishes. Tracks include the
early singles "Working On A Tsjing-Tsjang" and the excellent "Bottle Party".Excellent colour booklet that
contains all the single sleeve.Good & twisted stuff.
BARRA
198? English Garden / UK Folk Psych 20,00 €
CD - Eternal Magus.
ENGCD 1025 UK
Late '80's album only just released by this Scottish band who updated the Celtic rock sound in a similar
way to Runrig, but with a darker more mystical edge. Epic production and dreamy female vocals add to the
atmosphere of this long lost Celtic rock album now finally available to all.
BARROCOS, Los
Rock Blues Jazz Folk 14,90 €
CD - SIN TIEMPO NI ESPACIO
ARG
Although they had been playing gigs since the early 70s, they released their only album in 1974. Sin
tiempo ni espacio was an interesting record that mixed classical and progressive music. The b-side was
more intense, with songs like "Siempre encontrar un lugar" (with excellent performances of both guitars
and violin) or "Noche de Sol" (with a repeated riff and a great guitar solo). All and all, a unique album of
great interest for collectors. (In a way, this LP relates to the first Ave Rock album, for the progressive
sound of using two guitars).
CD - Live at Polskie Radio 3 - (2CD)
A complete show in excellent radio quality spanning 2 CDs. Colin Bass does not only play his soloprogram
here, but also presents a whole lot of newly interpreted Camel-songs.
Auf 2 Cds eine komplette Show in exzellenter Radioqualität. Colin Bass spielt hier nicht nur sein Solo-
Programm, sondern ebenso eine ganze Reihe eigenständiger Camel-Songs.
CD - live Vol. 2 - "acoustic songs"
Kart 05 UK
Another complete show in excellent radio quality. This concert was played unplugged, however, which
gives many songs a completely new identity. A must for Bass-fans, a really valuable aquisiton for all
followers of Camel.
Noch eine komplette Show in exzellenter Radioqualität. Allerdings unplugged, wobei hier die Songs
oftmals einen völlig neuen Charakter bekommen. Für Bass-Fans ein Muss, für Camel-Anhänger eine
echte Bereicherung.
CD - In the meantime
Kart 09 UK
Colin Bass returns with his first studio album since the acclaimed "An Outcast of the Islands". Nine new
compositions touching on a number of styles but all featuring his distinctive melodic touch. From the guitarled
rock of the opening track - "Dissident Song", inspired by the true story of one man's doomed protest in
Tiananmen Square - through the bluesy reflection on the end of an affair "So Hard to Say Goodbye", and
the gentle, bittersweet companion-piece "As We Say Goodbye", to the funky groove of the-morning-afterthe-night-before
lament "Slow Train Blues", the acoustic-guitar led ballad "Talk to Me" and the mysterious
twists of the title track leading to the final 10-minute suite "The Bridge of Sighs" and "When Will You Ever
Learn?" - a majestic, haunting journey from the reflective melancholy of the opening to a searing guitar
solo from Maciek Meller before it rides optimistically off into the sunset. A post-script is provided by a new
album mix of the beautiful ballad "One Small Moment" previously only available on last year's "Gently
Kindly" CD-single.
