diagrams of barks’s paintings In preparing the content for this book, I completed over 100 red-pencil drawings of Barks’s paintings. Scanned and reduced to grayscale, these capture the broad forms and essential details of Barks’s Disney and non-Disney fine-art cartoon paintings. Designed to provide visual reference for the discussions of Barks’s craft, the diagrams were also an important part of my learning process while studying Barks’s narrative composition and other techniques. 12
