The Reprographics Room is situated near the main entrance to the faculty. Coin operated photocopiers are also available for use throughout the day. Sports and Free-time Facilities The Faculty, the University and the city of Maribor represent a creative environment for studying and also for free-time activities. Gyms, swimming pools and spas, athletic and other sporting grounds are available for sports and fitness throughout Maribor. The natural surroundings of Maribor call for jogging and other forms of outdoor recreation, like skiing on the nearby Ski World Cup competition grounds. Students can benefit from usual student discounts. Information Package on the degree programmes of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Maribor Part TWO Page 33 4 POSTGRADUATE STUDY PROGRAMME The Faculty offers also the following postgraduate study programmes: − Mechanical Engineering, − Textile Technology and − Technical Environment Protection. Erasmus students can choose any of the postgraduate study programmes. They are free to take the compulsory courses in the first year, choose from the range of optional courses in the second year or opt for the individual research work in the framework of current research projects. M.Sc. postgraduate study programme Graduates from mechanical engineering, textile engineering, industrial engineering, physics, chemistry or mathematics, achieving the average grade of at least 8 (out of 10) during their diploma studies, or graduates who are working on research projects and have at least two years of practical work experience, can enrol in postgraduate study programmes leading to M.Sc. degree. The master's degree study programme comprises the following 6 courses: − First year: 3 compulsory courses from the available courses list, − Second year: 3 optical courses from the available courses list and − 150 hour of individual research work (30 hour in the first year, 120 hours in the second year). The total amount of lectures and seminars of the selected master study program sums up to 450 hours. Master’s degree study follows the modules. The three courses can be chosen among the following group A offered. The choice of courses depends on the knowledge required for successful integration of the candidate into a particular research project. The chosen courses have to be approved by the study mentor and the research project leader. The candidates are also required to do 21 ECTS wl of independent research work in the first year.
