MODULS OF MASTER’S DEGREE STUDY INTELLIGENT MANUFACTURING AND MONITORING SYSTEMS During the past few years, the increasing complexity of industrial manufacturing, the need for better exploitation, better adjustment, better quality and lower cost, have changed the manufacturing process to a great extent. From the early fifties, when the classical managing theory has been introduced, the engineers have developed different methods for analyzing or controlling systems, such as modeling methods, system monitoring methods (transparency, stability), and controlling methods. The artificial intelligence techniques are widely employed in studying the different technical systems. The artificial intelligence is mostly, yet not exclusively, computer based and it targets the design of a computer system capable of performing certain thinking processes. The aim of the use of artificial intelligence is to replace the human intelligence with the artificial – machine intelligence. The key problem is the creation of a thinking machine. The field of artificial intelligence comprises the computer language study, learning, sensors, etc. Intelligent systems consist of machines and devices connected according to hierarchy different to the classical by the advent of intelligence. In planning the intelligent systems and machines, the engineers try to simulate the functioning of human brain in a way which would transfer the human logic and heuristics into the controlling of a machine.
