The home of Miss Fronia James and<br />
brother caught on fire one night the<br />
past week but was put out before<br />
much damage was done.<br />
Old Brick Gone<br />
The old brick walls left standing<br />
after the fire have been pushed down<br />
by the boys and the last of <strong>Bullitt</strong>’s<br />
first jail is about gone.<br />

The Baptist Young People’s Union<br />
will present a pageant. Those with<br />

Snider - Jones<br />
Mr. Marshall Jones, of this place and<br />
Miss Cora Snider, of Louisville,<br />
were married February 28 by the<br />
Rev. Father Crany of St. Cecilias<br />
Church, Louisville, Ky. The bride is<br />
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph<br />
Snider, who for many years made<br />

Since we expect to erect the Soldiers<br />
Memorial here in the early spring<br />
with the $1,989.15 which is in the<br />
hands of J. L. Williams and which<br />
was raised then and by the schools<br />
of this county in the fall of 1920 and<br />
since we do not want to be selfish in<br />
this noble work, we hereby invite the<br />
public to join us with their donations<br />
and let’s honor our noble boys now<br />
in <strong>1922</strong> and not wait for the<br />
generation of 1992 to do it for us.<br />
Most of these boys left estates<br />
ranging form $6,000 to $20,000 and<br />
we invite their relatives as well as<br />
the entire public to send donations<br />
before May 1 st , <strong>1922</strong> to J. L.<br />
Williams or any banker in this<br />

Mr. John Stibbens family are all<br />
down with the flu.<br />
Mr. Henry Pendleton has about<br />
commenced his tenant house and<br />
Mr. Emmett Snellen will move in it.<br />
Mrs. Mary Down has passed to the<br />
haven of rest and was laid to rest in<br />
the South Eastern Cemetery.<br />
Mr. Fred Seebolt dropped dead at his<br />
home near Medora.<br />
Mrs. Delie McNut is quite ill at this<br />
writing.<br />
Mr. Dave Markem has sold out and<br />
moved to Louisville to work.<br />
Mr. Tom Pauley went up to see<br />
seven widows and they all wanted to<br />
talk at once. He came back down<br />
home and said he could not talk to<br />
all of them at once. He got Mr. Crist<br />
Pauley to go back with him. Mr.<br />
Crist said he was not going to get<br />
himself in a shape like that any<br />
more.<br />
Mr. Elmer Beghtol is building a new<br />
fence along the new road through his<br />
place.<br />
Mr. Paul Brashear has been very<br />
low, but is better.<br />
Miss Annie Muss will have a<br />
birthday party Sunday.<br />
Miss Lula Pendleton has returned<br />
home after an extended visit to her<br />
sister, Mrs. Jones.<br />
Miss Mildred Stibbens is taking a<br />
business course at Bryant and<br />
Stratton.
