Thomas J. Botkin is an account<br />

Previously, the Cardinal incorrectly<br />

listed him as on Modern’s<br />

board of directors when, in fact,<br />

he was on the board of a local<br />

semi pro football team.<br />

Adam M. Cherup is attending<br />

electrical engineering technologies<br />

classes at Broward Community<br />

College in Pompano<br />

Beach, Florida.<br />

Jason P. Fenner recently moved<br />

from Columbus to Dallas/ Ft.<br />

Worth to take a work promotion.<br />

Previously a sales manager with<br />

Brinks Home Security in Columbus,<br />

he’s national sales trainer<br />

answering to the vice president<br />

of national sales.<br />

In his new position, Fenner trains<br />

every new sales representative<br />

and manager (about 50 people<br />

a month) who comes to work for<br />

the company. He travels around<br />

the country the remainder of the<br />

month fortifying sales practices<br />

and assisting various branches<br />

with sales. “I greatly miss Buckeye<br />

Country,” he said “especially<br />

being a graduate of Ohio <strong>St</strong>ate<br />

University. If any <strong>Cardinals</strong> are<br />

Joseph E. Held reports he and<br />

his wife, Jessica, are the parents<br />

and lives in North Canton.<br />

Robert E. Ryan III ’93<br />

The Distinctive Leader in Catholic Education<br />

Robert E. Ryan III was named<br />

principal of Brophy College<br />

<strong>Preparatory</strong> <strong>School</strong> in Arizona.<br />

He served most recently as its<br />

assistant principal for ministry.<br />

One of 11 children of Bob ’69<br />

and Mary Ginn Ryan, he earned<br />

a degree in theology from the<br />

University of Notre Dame and<br />

a master’s in education with an<br />

emphasis on curriculum and<br />

instruction from Arizona <strong>St</strong>ate<br />

University.<br />

Ryan moved to Phoenix in 1997<br />

and spent his first two years<br />

working as a volunteer at Andre<br />

House, ministering to the homeless.<br />

He joined the staff at Brophy<br />

in 2000 where he has taught<br />

algebra, geometry, and theology.<br />

He also served as department<br />

chair for religious studies<br />

for four years, collaborating with<br />

colleagues in developing the<br />

school’s current religious studies<br />

program.<br />

Ryan has been actively involved<br />

in the national Jesuit Secondary<br />

Education Association, participating<br />

in the three-year program<br />

in Ignatian Leadership as well<br />

as participating in the California<br />

Province Task Force studying<br />

Ignatian formation. He and his<br />

wife, Kathleen, live in Phoenix.<br />

Christopher J. Ellis is director<br />

of acquisitions for Glimcher Realty<br />

Trust in Columbus. He and<br />

his wife, Denise, live in Lewis<br />

Center.<br />

1989<br />

James A. Best works for the<br />

<strong>St</strong>rive Group’s Rock Island<br />

Display Division as the on-site<br />

manger for three locations and<br />

senior IT support specialist for<br />

the company. He lives in Moline,<br />

Illinois with his wife of nearly<br />

eight years, Michelle, and their<br />

daughters, Olivia (7) and Sophia<br />

(5).<br />

He previously worked for Elan<br />

Pharmaceuticals in San Diego<br />

for five years. While in San Diego<br />

he earned a degree in information<br />

technology from the<br />

University of Phoenix. He’s currently<br />

pursuing an MBA in technology<br />

management through<br />

the University of Phoenix. Best<br />

joined the Marine Corps about<br />

a year following graduation from<br />

<strong>St</strong>. <strong>Charles</strong> and served at Camp<br />

Pendleton for the duration of his<br />

tour. He entered the IT field as a<br />

computer administrator at a local<br />

junior college. After two years<br />

there, he worked at a computer<br />

store then “joined” the YMCA as<br />

a computer administrator.<br />

Brian Webb is a registered<br />

nurse at Riverside Methodist<br />

Hospital in Columbus. Brian<br />

and his wife Jill are the parents<br />

of Gabriella Marie, born last<br />

September.<br />

Outstanding graduation gift<br />

The <strong>St</strong>one brothers, from left-- Loren C. ’87, Timothy J. ’96 and<br />

Damian S. ’90 traveled to the Emerald Isle and attended a concert<br />

by the band Pearl Jam. This photo was taken on an excursion to<br />

Scotland where the oldest brother, Loren, was on a business trip to<br />

inspect new hotels his company might wish to manage there and in<br />

Ireland. Tim graduated from Ohio Dominican University with honors<br />

in the past year and the trip was a special graduation present from<br />

Loren and Tim.<br />

and general manager<br />

by CBS SportsLine,<br />

an internet sports<br />

media segment of<br />

CBS Interactive. He<br />

oversees programming,<br />

product development,<br />

marketing, technology,<br />

and general<br />

administration of CBS<br />

Jason E. Kint ’92<br />

SportsLine.<br />

Most recently Kint<br />

served as vice president of Sporting <strong>New</strong>s (the<br />

online version of the newspaper/magazine formerly<br />

known as The Sporting <strong>New</strong>s) and general<br />

manager of its online division.<br />

CBS noted that Kint worked with The Sporting<br />

<strong>New</strong>s in various capacities for over eleven years<br />

and was instrumental in launching their original<br />

online business. He guided Sporting<strong>New</strong>s.com<br />

through many changes, including major<br />

distribution deals, premium content, emerging<br />

platforms, social networking, and the re-launch of<br />

Sporting <strong>New</strong>s fantasy sports business.<br />

Before his association with Sporting <strong>New</strong>s, Kint<br />

spent two years as executive producer of Times<br />

Mirror Magazines web properties for its 15+<br />

magazines, including GOLFonline, SkiNet, PopSci.<br />

com, and Speedvision.com. He was instrumental in<br />

that company’s acquisition of Interzine Productions<br />

and led its integration in the organization.<br />

From 1994 through 1996, Kint helped found<br />

an early web development company, LiveWire<br />

Marketing, which developed dozens of commercial<br />

and educational sites. His first website was one of<br />

the original sports sites listed in 1994 on what is<br />

now Yahoo!<br />

Kint holds a B.S.B.A. degree from Washington<br />

University in <strong>St</strong>. Louis with majors in mathematics<br />

and marketing.<br />
