100 Lights and mirrors, exterior equipment
Lights
LED headlights*
with the following elements in LED technology: dipped
beam, high beam, combined daytime running light,
position light and indicator function in single light
guide, static turning light as well as all-weather light
and motorway light function; all-weather light function
to reduce the risk of the driver being dazzled
when visibility is poor (in fog, rain or snow), the turning
light supplements illumination alongside the vehicle
in tight bends and when turning corners, additional
motorway light which automatically doubles headlight
range from a speed of approximately 110 km/h; LED
technology allows near daylight illumination of the
road for increased safety and comfort; minimum energy
requirements, long service life and excellent recognition
by other road users thanks to the striking Audi
lighting pattern with daytime and night-time design.
The headlights also have 3 different light distribution
patterns which are activated depending on the vehicle
speed: town light, motorway light and country light.
In addition, Audi connect enables these 3 light distribution
patterns to be controlled by the vehicle support
system based on navigation data, and with the aid of
stored route data from the optional MMI navigation
plus with MMI touch; in this configuration the convenient
functions of the lighting assistant are supplemented
by the junction light, which provides a broad spread
of light from the front lighting system, and by the
travel mode with GPS-assisted switching between
right- and left-hand drive modes; including LED rear
lights.
xenon plus including headlight cleaning system
The headlights with durable gas discharge technology
for dipped and high beam enable an intensive
illumination of the road with evenness and range,
in a colour resembling daylight both close-up and in
the distance. The automatic dynamic headlight range
control prevents oncoming traffic from being dazzled;
including LED daytime running light strip with low
energy consumption and LED rear lights. The headlight
cleaning system uses water and high pressure, for
improved illumination and good visibility through
reduced scatter.

LED rear lights
Brake, indicator and rear lights in LED technology, new
design language with three-dimensional floating
effect for the light guide, with reversing lights and
rear fog lights
Rear lights
with reversing lights in white and rear fog lights,
including high-mounted third brake light and LED
number plate light
adaptive light
consisting of dynamic cornering light and static
turning light; the dynamic cornering light identifies
the course of the road from the movement of the
steering wheel and variably illuminates bends by
pivoting the xenon headlights; operational between
speeds of approx. 10 km/h and 110 km/h. The static
turning light automatically switches on if the
indicators have been engaged for a while at a low
vehicle speed and illuminates the new direction in
which the vehicle is travelling. The headlights also
have 3 different light distribution patterns which are

Variable headlight range control
The variable headlight range control system features a
camera on the interior mirror which registers sources of
light from other road users within system limits. The
range and width of the headlight beam are continuously
varied between dipped and high beam to suit ambient
conditions, ensuring that the headlights provide good
visibility without dazzling other road users.
