Erich Maierbrugger, Rent at Strolz Human Resource Manager
Erich has been a member of the Strolz team for 21 years. The trained
cabinetmaker from Carinthia and resident of Lech started out in
the repair service department. After holding positions in sales and
as branch manager, he finally became sales manager and finally
human resource manager. As the father of one son and one daughter
and passionate family man, Erich knows very well how to organise
a winter sports programme for children in Lech.
This issue is on the mind of every parent: What do we have to keep
in mind when we take our children on a winter vacation? Erich,
who hears this question often, has several answers ready: You have
to look at it from various perspectives, he explains. Are you going
to buy equipment for children or rent it? is an obvious consideration.
CHILDREN ARE NOT ALLO
WITHOUT SAFETY EQUIP
When it comes to footwear, skis, snowboards etc. Erich tends to
recommend renting – for several reasons. First of all, children frequently
outgrow these things after just one season. This makes
renting fi nancially attractive compared to buying. In many cases, children
also don’t know exactly what they want or tend to change their
opinion. This is no problem with rented items – have a funcarver today,
a snowboard tomorrow. If the shoe doesn’t fit, simply trade it
in for a new one at no extra charge and without having to dispose of
the old pair yourself. And if anything breaks, you simply take it back
and exchange it. When an adult buys a new ski near the end of the
season, it can be used again next winter. On the other hand, it
may be too short by then in case of a child. Erich mentions another
aspect that is especially important for children on the slopes:
