The Court in Edinburgh is held every Monday, at<br />

eleven o'clock forenoon, within the High Justiciary<br />

Court room.<br />

At Dalkeith the last Thursday <strong>of</strong> eVery month 5<br />

and at mid Calder, by adjournment, four times in the<br />

year.<br />

Two or more Justices <strong>of</strong> Peace may transact business.<br />

No Sum above 5I. can be sued for.<br />

No practioner in the law allowed to act.<br />

No appeal lies, but by reduction, on the head <strong>of</strong> op»<br />

pression, to the Court <strong>of</strong> Session ; and the ftf.ny<br />

complaining must find security for the amount <strong>of</strong><br />

the debt, also past and future costs.—Where a decree<br />

has gone in absence, the cau^e may be re-heard,<br />

upon consigning the Sums decerned for, and giving<br />

intimation to the oilier party to attend.<br />

Fees fixed by Act <strong>of</strong> Parliament.<br />
