The old-fashioned bleeding heart is an elegant, shrub-like perennial with arching blue-green foliage and strands of pink & white ‘hearts.’ Adequate
moisture will prevent summer dormancy. The dwarf fernleaf Dicentra blooms most of the season. Avoid wet soils with these.
