3 21 <strong>The</strong> ANAO also had regard to evidence given by OGIA and<br />
Attorney-General's Department staff to the Senate Finance and<br />
Public Administration Legislation Committee and to the Senate<br />
Legal and Constitutional Legislation Committee. This evidence<br />
was given at five separate Parliamentary Committee Estimates<br />
hearings in late 1996. <strong>The</strong> ANAO also interviewed staff of OGIA<br />
and the Attorney-General’s Department, and reviewed relevant<br />
documentation.<br />
3 22 <strong>The</strong> ANAO audit did not include the management of the advertising<br />
and PR campaigns.<br />
3 23 <strong>The</strong> audit was carried out in accordance with the ANAO <strong>Audit</strong>ing<br />
Standards. Fieldwork was undertaken between May and<br />
September 1997. <strong>The</strong> cost of the audit was $130 000.<br />
