Principal’s update BOARDING Condobolin Boarding P&F Function On Saturday, 6th March, there was a gathering of the All Saints’ College community at the home of Kate and Russell Symonds at Condobolin. It was a very friendly get-together with families travelling from Sydney, Bathurst, Tottenham, Nyngan and Condobolin to attend the event. Drinks and nibblies were enjoyed by the pool, followed by a sit-down barbecue dinner under the stars in the lovely garden at “Bogandillon”. We would like to thank Kate, Russell and Jess Symonds Barbecue at the Pool 24 | ALL SAINTS’ COLLEGE VIM Issue 1 2011 On the final weekend of term, the boarders enjoyed a barbecue brunch around the swimming pool on Sunday, 3rd April. Thanks to the chefs - Eliot Sanger, Rosemarie Schofield, Lucy Spora and Gillian McAllister - we all enjoyed a feast of bacon, eggs, sausages, onions, tomatoes and bread rolls. It was a lovely day. The boarders had a lie-in prior to brunch, then a few hours of relaxing and packing, followed by a walk to 10 Pin Bowling. who worked tirelessly to make the night a success and the Condobolin mums who supplied the salads and desserts. Congratulations to Max Eggleton (Year 12) who celebrated his 18th birthday with friends, family and a chocolate mud cake. A special thank you to Gillian and Watson McAllister who attended as the staff representatives. Plans are underway for the next boarding function - possibly the Riverside Caravan Park at Nyngan during the mid-year break. Mrs Wendy Wass End of Term Formal dinner On Monday, 4th April, the boarders had their formal end-ofterm dinner in the dining room. They were dressed magnificently in all their finery! Eliot Sanger and Gillian McAllister thanked the boarders for the term and the four leaders - Amanda Burbidge, Hannah Doolan, Brendan Farr and Max Eggleton - said a few words of thanks and talked about the highlights of the term.
Principal’s update On Valentine’s Day, traditionally the girls go across to the Boys’ House and sing to them. This BOARDING Valentine’s Day year they once again dressed up in red and pink pyjamas, dressing gowns etc. They sang a specially composed song to all the boys at Watson House. Each boy and each member of staff was then presented with a Valentine’s Day card made by the senior girls. Attached to each card was a heart- shaped chocolate! Water-slide fun House spirit on show The first weekend of Term 1, which was restricted leave for the boarders, was a fun-filled weekend with lots of games and activities. This weekend allowed the boarders to mix together and get to know one another a little better. The senior leaders organised games and Eliot Sanger organised the water-slide. The students had a great time on the water slide as it was a pretty hot weekend. The Year 12 boarders dressed up for the Swimming Carnival in their House colours - costumes, face paint, etc. They had a wonderful time cheering on swimmers or swimming themselves - great fun was had by all on the day and it was a wonderful occasion with lots of loud noise and House spirit!
