unjust humiliations heaped on them by those who do not understand
the beauty of gentleness and humility. We remember how
You embraced our sufferings, how the heavy burden of our
sufferings made You fall. Pointing to Your example, we comfort
our children and grandchildren through their falls as we love and
nurture them out of their heavy-heartedness. In doing so, Your
promise is fulfilled and our own burdens become lighter. We rise
to walk again, embracing our crosses with courage and hope.
Each step taken can be overwhelming and disheartening. The
enemy relishes in our disappointments and uses them to push us
toward sorrow, grief, and despair, but each time we awaken your
Spirit within us it speaks clearly and says --- “I am with you”.
Again we rise. Again we remember Your struggle, Your falls, and
Your embracing and forgiving love as You rise again --- for us.
Again and again, we remember Your words “I am with you.”
You give us hope! You give us love!
Never will we let go of Your hope…. never will we let go of
Your love… never will we forget the way of Your cross. Your
falls have given us Love… Your falls have given us Life.
All: (kneel) The hapless is crushed, sinks down, and falls by his
might. He thinks in his heart, "God has forgotten, he has hidden
his face, he will never see it." Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thy
hand; forget not the afflicted. O LORD, thou will hear the desire
of the meek; thou will strengthen their heart, thou will incline thy
ear to do justice to the fatherless and the oppressed, so that man
who is of the earth may strike terror no more. (Psalm 10: 10-11,
17-18)
