The CleanCare 3-Step System
Recently, there has been a renewed emphasis placed on good hand hygiene.
According to CDC publications:
• More than 2 million patients contract hospital-acquired
infections, including MRSA; as many as 90,000 of these
patients will die from these infections.*
• Hospital-acquired infections add over
$5 billion annually to healthcare costs**
Additionally, in 2004 JCAHO modified its recommended hand hygiene guidelines
to include the use of hand sanitizers, and added the following to its list of
National Patient Safety Goals:
• Reduce the risk of healthcare-acquired infections;
comply with the current CDC hand hygiene guidelines. +
Cardinal Health’s CleanCare system was developed to address the three specific
steps that can lead to better hand hygiene: hand washing, hand antisepsis and
dermal hydration and moisturization. The system is an excellent foundation for
an effective infection prevention program.
Cardinal Health is a proud sponsor of the Institute For Healthcare
Improvement’s 100K Lives Campaign, dedicated to preventing avoidable
deaths and institutionalizing new standards of care that will continue to save
