Charting a Course
for Success
—By Mr. Robert Clampett
2 | The Legacy
Excellence in education seldom happens in isolation.
More often than not it is through a collaborative
process and a team oriented approach that
significant accomplishments are achieved and success
is measured both on an individual basis and
from an organizational perspective. This concept
is validated in the classroom and beyond on a daily
basis in educational settings across all levels both
nationally and internationally. Just take a few
minutes to engage in some reflective thinking and
consider all the important people and experiences
that played a role in your growth and development
and you will understand my point.
Coral Springs Christian Academy is no exception
to the rule. I would like to take this opportunity
recognize the outstanding accomplishments that
our school has made over the past ten years and
the multitude of committed and dedicated Christian
educators and stakeholders that have helped
to make that happen.
Looking forward to the next decade, I have a great
deal of continued optimism about the future of our
school. Having been present at every high school
graduation since the class of 2001, I have seen first
hand how the Lord has blessed our school and how
it has prospered and stepped up to met many challenges
along the road to success. I have seen clearly
where we have been and understand where we
need to go. Let me take some time to mention a few
of the key areas.
One of the foundational aspects of our school is
our focus on whole child education. Unlike other
schools that sell out to teach to a test or to put all
their eggs in one or two baskets, we recognize the
value and worth of each child and concentrate on
developing the student in a variety of ways, academically,
socially, developmentally and spiritually.
This provides the student with a rich and rewarding
educational experience that transcends the
classroom. More and more of our students are taking
part in activities associated with our school and
church that speak to this multi dimensional ap-
proach and that is a big reason why it is so important
for us to continue on this course. Many of our
alumni have expressed to me how well prepared
they are in the post secondary arena because we
embrace this concept.
Another very important positive aspect of our
school growth and success is tethered to our accreditation
status. We currently hold four significant
accreditations: ACSI, SACS, FCIS and FKC.
Ten years ago we only had one accreditation from a
regional association. It was not until 2004 that our
high school became accredited by ACSI and SACS,
two highly regarded accrediting associations with
national and international presence. Those accreditations
were earned through a great deal of hard
work, dedication and commitment of our stakeholders
along with a lot of prayers. In 2005, CSCA was
again accredited by FCIS. This was a first for our
emerging high school since our prior accreditation
with them was earned in 1999 before we graduated
our first class and applied only to the elementary
and middle school.
I can proudly say that in March of 2009 we received
preliminary approval for our new five year accreditation
through ACSI and SACS. The final report is
due in June. Our school received very high marks
across the board. We are scheduled to go through
another FCIS visit sometime in 2010, which I am
confident will be a success. Just a few of the commendations
that came from the visiting committee
in March that are worth mentioning: 1) Highest
level of teacher certification ever in the history of
the school 2) Deep sense of community and family
atmosphere 3) Outstanding improvement as it
relates to our curriculum “You were good five years
ago, you are better now”. 4) Cohesiveness of administrative
team 5) Outreach to the community
As a graduate you can be very proud that your
school has passed the test, your school has weathered
the storm, and your school has been judged by
a jury of our educational peers as excellent and exemplary.
Take the opportunity to celebrate the fact
that a Coral Springs Christian Academy education
and diploma has merit, value and worth associated
with it and is recognized accordingly by the colleges
and universities across the country as well as by
our accrediting associations.
Several years ago we contracted with a local architectural
firm to develop a school wide master plan
for future facilities development. This firm had experience
dealing with schools and churches in Florida
and had a stellar reputation in the educational
community. I am pleased to say that the master
plan has been completed and once we are finished
with several of our projects that are now underway,
we will revisit our master plan and consider our options,
funding and our vision for the future.
In closing I would like to comment on the significant
progress that we have made in the area of discipleship
and evangelism concentrating on our spiritual
formation. Having personally just returned from
Acapulco, Mexico and the MTW Casa Hogar facility
for orphaned and displaced children, I can tell you
first hand that our school continues to reach out
and serve in a powerful way to those less fortunate.
We had a group of 17 excited and energized high
school students and 5 adult chaperones take part
in this week long missions work doing construction
on site and spending meaningful time with the children
and directors of the facility. This was a trans-
Annual Beach Day
formational experience for all of us. Each year I see
an intentional effort to bring more of our students
into the fold in the areas of discipleship and evangelism.
These are two of the benchmark areas that
separate our Christian schools from other schools
and provide us with a large part of our identity
and spiritual focus. We now have more opportunities
than ever before and more of our students
are playing an active role and taking advantage of
these opportunities. This year we added a service
project for each of our varsity athletic teams as an
outreach to the community which I feel will pay significant
dividends as we go forward. Since many of
you have graduated our chapel days have been upgraded
along with our highly successful and always
popular Spiritual Emphasis Week.
I hope this provides you with a brief snapshot of
our school and assists you with the navigational
skills that will be necessary to help us chart a successful
course for the future of Coral Springs Christian
Academy. Congratulations to the class of 2000
for your accomplishments and for your pioneering
spirit. We have some great opportunities on the horizon
and we will need your continued support and
prayers. God bless.
Coral Springs Christian Academy High School
opened its doors in 1996 with 100 students. In
2000, CSCA graduated their first senior class of 12
students. The high school has excelled and grown
in many areas including enrollment, course offerings,
sports, fine arts, and numerous activities.
CSCA began its college preparatory curriculum
with core honors courses and one Advanced Placement
class. Adding AP courses each year, CSCA
now offers students 12 AP options:
AP English Literature and Composition
AP Calculus AB
AP Statistics
AP Biology
AP Environmental Science
AP Microeconomics
AP American Government
AP World History
AP U.S. History
AP Spanish
AP 2D Art
AP Drawing Portfolio
As I look to begin my seventh year at CSCA, I am
excited to see what God has planned for the future
of this high school. I am blessed each day by the
exceptional students who walk these halls. Their
spiritual commitment, love for each other, academic
motivation, and the close relationships that bond
the students, faculty and administration are what
make this school a second home for me and many
others.
CSCA has graduated a total of 420 students and
another 55 will cross the stage and receive diplomas
at the end of May. Thank you for supporting
this ministry and please pray for the continued
leadership of the administration as we guide students
to excel academically and grow in their faith.
CSCA Athletics
—Steve Fitzgerald
Athletic Director
The athletic department at Coral Springs Christian has come a long
way in the short amount of time since the decision to add a high school.
Not only has it grown in number of sports available (CSCA currently
has 14 varsity sports), it has also grown into a very successful program.
Of the 14 varsity sports, 10 have won at least one individual or team
district championship. We have had many individual state participants
including six individual state champions in track and field. More importantly,
we are proud of the effort and dedication of the student/athletes
and coaches along with the parental support that make up our “Crusader
Family”. This hard work has established Coral Springs Christian
Academy as one of the top athletic programs of its size in Broward
County. I would like to offer a special invitation to our alumni to come
and check out the tradition that you helped develop with your perseverance
and commitment through the early years.
To our Alumni,
Advancement
—Mr. Matt Cleveland
Advancement Director
We hope you are enjoying our new alumni publication. It is imperative
that you as alumni know how special you are to CSCA. You have helped
build a foundation of excellence that is thriving even in these tough
economic times. We hope that you will enjoy the news and networking
that has happened through the CSCA alumni Facebook page as well.
Come back and visit whenever you can. You are always welcome.
We have made many strides this year in the Advancement Department.
We had our first annual Dinner, Dance, and Auction that was held on
January 23rd at the Parkland Golf and Country Club. We raised over
$29,000 in one night with the proceeds going to the General Fund. We
also began the Winterfest tradition at CSCA. This was held in the middle
of December. It included a Christmas Tree sale, a craft fair, a live
nativity, and performances by our elementary students. It was a great
day. We are working on our Annual Golf tournament which is always
a success. Also, TAP (Teachers and Parents) raised over $45,000 in the
annual Country fair this year. The advancement department and the
CSCA family have continued to grow and thrive!! God has truly blessed
us.
We have been able to build our much needed parking lot. Our athletic
facilities have been upgraded; smartboards are being put in classrooms.
Improvement is everywhere. We recently raised $85,000 through a
matching gift that allowed us to put a much needed new roof on Building
C. All of this is a tribute to God’s faithfulness. It has been a tough
year for Americans economically, but God has continued to provide for
CSCA. Please pray for us and God’s continued blessing on our school.
We look forward to seeing you on campus sometime in the near future!
Morgan Donham
I graduated from CSCA in 2000 and then went
to PBA for my bachelor’s degree. I majored in
Communication and minored in Business Administration
and Psychology. I met my husband
there in 2002 and we got married after
graduation in Hawaii in 2004. We had our
daughter, Bailey in 2006 and are now living
in New Mexico where my husband has an accounting
firm.
Jeanine Larue
I attended CSCS from 6-12th grade. I was a
part of the first graduating class of 2000. I
married my husband Brian in 2001 and now
we have 3 beautiful children. I am a stay at
home mom and I am also homeschooling my
oldest daughter Selah. We are still living in
South Florida where my husband runs our
business... Carefree Boat Club.
Nini Mittler
I attended CSCS in 1998, later it became
CSCA. I belong to the “cool first class of 2000.”
After graduation I married, later divorced, and
kept my married name. I struggled with picking
a major in college and decided to take a
year or so off and work on yachts for a little
until I made up my mind. It worked! I came
back, I currently attend FAU and I will be
graduating in Dec. 2009 with an English Education
degree. I have had a wonderful boyfriend
for the past five years and live happily
in Pompano with my sister.
CSCA helped me become a Godly woman who
wants to help shape young children to be what
God has in store for them. My vocation is a
direct result of the love and attention that
was given to me as a student in Coral Springs
Christian Academy. The memories of my first
day walking into a new school, and also a new
culture, are alive in my mind as it is the warm
welcome my eleven classmates and my teacher
embraced me with that first day in January.
Class of 2001
Keith Manning
I came to CSCA in 9th grade and graduated in
2001. After graduation I went to BCC, receiving
an AA degree in Business. I then spent the
next year in a discipleship program known as
Masters Commission in Ft. Myers, Fl. While
there I traveled across the country sharing the
Gospel with high school students and spent
some time down in Argentina as well. After
completion, I transferred to the University
of Central Florida and in 2006; I received my
Bachelors of Arts in Interpersonal Communication
with a minor in Business. I then joined
Campus Crusade for Christ as a campus minister
for the next two years and remained on
the campus of UCF. The next year I worked
as a financial recruiter for stock brokers and
financial advisers, definitely a great learning
experience. I now am a full time seminary student
seeking a Masters degree in international
church planting.
I will be spending the majority of this summer
in a country located in East Asia, the majority
of the people we will be reaching out to have
never even heard the name of Jesus Christ.
Please pray that we would see many come to
know Christ as their savior! I am very grateful
for CSCA, for the spiritual growth I experienced
there, the great friendships, and a great
education that well prepared me for college.
Jenna Jackson White
I attended CSCA for my junior and senior year
of high school...I was one of eleven (I think)
in the 2nd graduating class (2001)!!! I never
knew that a school could be a family but I absolutely
loved the teachers, deans, and classmates.
Even now...almost 8 years later, I think
back on how blessed I was to be a part of such
an amazing group. After high school, I moved
to Charlotte, NC where I worked in banking
for 4 years. I moved back to Alabama in 2005
and work in HIV Research at the University
of Alabama at Birmingham. It is incredible to
be a part of something like this and watch the
developments. I have a 3 year old son who is
my entire world.
Kim (Wharton) Harden
Formerly Kim Wharton, I attended CSCS since 6th grade,
now CSCA! Remember that change along with the gym addition.
I graduated in 2002. I attended UF briefly, traveled
overseas, worked fun jobs and eventually finished my degree
at FAU in Social Worker, Child Welfare. I am currently
working on my Masters and working full time. I work for
ChildNet, the foster care agency in Broward. Working with
high risk teenagers is what I do ALL day and sometimes at
night. On the weekends I hang out with my husband of 3
months. He is a fire fighter in WPB and teaches at Kieser
College. No kids in the works, although my husband often
acts as one! But we have plans to have a house full of them
in the not so distant future. For those of you who remember
my mother, she is wonderful and enjoying retirement!
I recently ran into Dr. Orsino while in North Carolina and
he hasn’t changed a bit, mustache and all! Glad to see everyone!
Best wishes!
(As of today, Kim and Eric are expecting their first child in
November. Congratulations and much love to the Harden
family!)
Carolyn Shuttlesworth
I started to attend CSCS in Pre-K, 3rd and 4th grade then
I left to attend Westminster Academy for a few grades but
came back in 10th grade when it was CSCA and graduated
class of ‘02!! In my opinion the best :) After I graduated I
moved into a dorm with Dene’ Rosario f/k/a Dene’ Argenti
at FAU. I was there for about 1 ½ until I moved up to Virginia
Beach, VA where I finished my 2nd year at Regent
University. I was hired at a law firm as a receptionist and
have been there for over 3 years now. After working there
for 1 year I caught on quickly and was promoted to Real
Estate Paralegal. I absolutely love my job and what I do,
but it comes second to what my husband and I do.
I met my husband at the church that I started going to
when I moved to VA. We got married April 22, 2006. He is
the associate pastor as well as the youth pastor and music
director. Our life is completely dedicated to the ministry
and seeing souls saved in these last days. We are so blessed
and very busy in all we do!
Donald H Dresson Jr.
I graduated in 2002 and I went to college at FIU for about
2 and a half years. I stopped just short of my AA, but I may
go back and finish it one of these days. I have been in a
steady relationship for about the past 9 or 10 months with
a girl from my new church. She also just happens to be
the daughter of the Senior Pastor and it has been a great
chance to get to know them and their family. I can feel that
perhaps the Lord is leading me down a path and I can possibly
see myself getting married to her in the future, but
we will have to wait and see. Presently I am working at
Wachovia Bank doing document encoding...have been doing
it for more than a year now. I am attempting to get
a job with the United Postal Service so I can earn more
money and better benefits to prepare for my future. All in
all life is pretty good at the moment.
Meghan (Dotson) Galvez
I graduated from CSCA in 02, and still love to think back on
all the AMAZING moments spent with friends! I am living
in TX now with my husband, Hector and our four children.
Joshua, 13, lives with his mother in Daytona, but spends
holidays and summers with us! Christopher 4, Chloe 3,
and Sophie 18 months, keep us busy year round. We are
very blessed to be surrounded by family and friends, and I
look forward to every moment I can spend with them. For
those of you that know Jordan (my brother-graduated 04)
he is doing well, too! He and Jessica were married in August,
and they live just a few minutes down the road. The
kids love having them come over and play!!! May GOD
truly BLESS you all!! GO CRUSADERS!!!
Dene (Argente`) Rosario
Went to CSCA when it was CSCS for middle school and
then came back for my senior year and graduated 2002! I
am in my final year as a double major at FAU. I am married
to my high school sweetheart and have two beautiful
little girls, Giovanna (18 months) and Liliana (4 months).
I am working with the family real estate company but
thinking about going to school after I finish my degrees to
become a nurse!
Kazumi Takenaka
I graduated from FAU in December of 2007, and currently
in my second year of teaching at CSCA. I am teaching high
school math and also coaching volleyball and softball!
Rebekah De La Ossa
Hi all. I graduated in 2002. I finished my AA and am working
on my BA. I took a few years off to get married and
divorced to another fellow CSCA alum. I am currently
living in Davie, FL. I am a leasing consultant for Equity
Residential, a property management company. I love what
I do and look forward to what is ahead for me in the future.
I don’t miss being a teen and do NOT miss high school. I
think I got along better with the faculty rather than the
students! I miss Ms. Duresky but was happy to see she has
a facebook of her own. There were many other teachers/
staff, like Mrs. Enser and Mrs. Shoemaker that still hold a
place in my heart. I wish the best to all the alumni and am
glad that this profile was created.
Kiley Thaxton
I graduated from CSCA in ‘02 after attending there sophomore
to senior years. As a major math lover, I introduced
CSCA to Mu Alpha Theta which I am not sure if it is still
going or not. I live and work full-time in Fort Lauderdale.
I am an office manager for a sales office as well as a part
time wedding/event photographer. I am also a student at
BC for Business and Nursing. I start the RN program May
12 and Lord willing; will be an RN by December ‘10. I will
also be finishing my Associates in Business this semester. I
plan to continue my studies in both areas. I hope to work as
a midwife eventually with the business as a fall back. I am
currently engaged to the love of my life! We have not set a
date, right now we are just enjoying each other’s company
and cherishing every day that God has given us together.
Thanks staff for putting this together for us!
Nicole Alexis (Holz) Van Wyk
I graduated from CSCA in 2002 and went to
FAU while staying around CSCA to coach
cheerleading. I recently moved to Iowa where
I am the Special Education high school teacher
and head cheerleading coach at PCHS. On
June 13, 2009 I will be getting married to Nate
Van Wyk. Nate and I met in 2006 while he was
teaching at CSCA (he now teaches Bible and
coaches baseball at PCHS). We just bought our
first house together and are very excited about
our future together!
Monica Phillips
I graduated from CSCA in 2002 after having
been there for 7 years. I went to FGCU my
freshman year of college but transferred to
FAU for my sophomore through senior year,
where I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors
of Science in Nursing degree. In August
2006 after graduation I moved to Statesboro,
GA to attend Georgia Southern University. I
am currently working on my Masters in Nursing
and will graduate May 2009 as a Family
Nurse Practitioner. On top of attending Graduate
School full time I also work full time in
the ICU/CCU (Intensive Care/Critical Care
Unit) at the local hospital here on night shift.
I am not 100% sure what I will be doing once
I graduate in May, but I would like to work in
either a Family Practice or an Urgent Care (or
ER) setting. I will probably be relocating from
Statesboro, GA to Brunswick, GA (on the coast
midway between Jacksonville, FL and Savannah,
GA) where my parents relocated about 5
months after I moved to Statesboro.
Darby (Sutter) Lester
I attended CSCA from grades 6-12, and graduated
in 2002. After I graduated from CSCA, I
spent one year attending Florida Atlantic University
before moving back to the province of
Alberta in Canada where my family is originally
from. I graduated from the University of
Lethbridge in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science
in Kinesiology. I got married on June 7, 2008
to a farmer from southern Alberta - we live on
a farm south of the city of Brooks near a small
I attended CSCA from 1996-2002. I graduated
in the class of ‘02. Upon graduation, I enlisted
in the U.S Army as an aerial sensor and intelligence
analyst, spent time in Oklahoma,
Texas, Arizona, and Korea, as well as many
other quick trips around the country and the
world. I was released honorably from active
duty in April 2006. I moved to New York State
for college and am a full time student in my
3rd year at Queens College of the City University
of New York for accounting with a minor
in economics. In April of 2008 I transferred to
an Army Reserve unit to complete the remaining
time on my 8 year statutory obligation. I
drill on the weekends at Ft. Totten in Queens,
NY. I also work part time as a line manager
for Home Depot. I am currently on a selection
list for the New York State Police and the U.S
Capitol Police. Barring any unforeseen circumstance,
I plan to join one of those two agencies
as a law enforcement professional upon completion
of college.
I graduated from CSCA in 2003 and married
Shannon Enser on November 4, 2006. Shannon
is currently working for AAA Cooper Transportation
in the office and I work for Client First
Funding as an account Executive and also
have a Screen Enclosure Co on the side. We
just found out we are expecting our first child
due in August...needless to say we are thrilled!
I graduated from CSCA in 2003 and went to
Florida State University. I graduated from
FSU with my BS in Sociology and minors in
Business and Psychology. However with a constant
interest in science I got myself involved
with some research projects in Molecular Biology
my last two years at FSU. I now am a full
time employee at FSU working in the Oceanography
Department in an Environmental Microbiology
laboratory. We are currently working
on several cutting edge projects on grants from
the Department of Energy and several bio-fuel
and bio-energy companies. I am responsible for
everything the lab needs, and I am also in the
process of submitting another paper for publication.
I love being a vital part of helping the
world understand more about such a diverse
world we know so little about.
I graduated from CSCA in 2003 and went to
Auburn University on a full golf scholarship,
had 4 successful years playing, and graduated
in 2007 with a degree in Communications
and minor in Sport Coaching. I met my fiancé,
Ross Scavo, at Auburn my junior year, (no date
planned yet). He is an athletic trainer and finished
with his Masters in Biomechanics in May
2008. He is living in Coral Springs and working
with post-op patients in Delray. I am going
into my second season on the LPGA Tour and
loving every minute of it!
I graduated from CSCA in 2003 and then moved to Lookout
Mountain, Georgia to study at Covenant College. I
completed my undergraduate degree at Covenant in sociology,
specializing in interpersonal counseling. In the
spring of 2007, I immediately began working on a master’s
degree from Liberty University in school counseling. I
completed my master’s degree while working at Covenant
as a career counselor. I met my husband Brandon while
attending Covenant and we were married on July 7th,
2007 along with millions of other couples on that happy
day. In June of 2008, we relocated to Davie, Florida where
Brandon is attending Nova Southeastern University as
a medical student and I am working at Sheridan Hills
Christian School as a high school guidance counselor. We
are expecting our first baby this summer!!!
I graduated in 2003, and headed to Gainesville to earn my
Bachelor’s in Elementary Ed at UF. Last month I finished
my Special Education Master’s degree and I came back
to CSCA to teach third grade for the rest of this school
year. In July, I am getting married and moving to Indiana,
Pennsylvania with my future husband.
My sister Nicole, who graduated in 2002, also finished
school at FAU with her Bachelors in Special Education
and is living in Iowa teaching high school. She was married
on June 13th to Nate Van Wyk.
My brother Andy, who graduated in 2005, will graduate
from Norwich University in Vermont in May. He will
have his Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice. He played football
while he was there. He is planning on attending law
school and is also getting married next January!
I began CSCA in 6th grade and graduated from CSCA in
2003. I attended Lehigh University (Bethlehem, Pennsylvania)
for a year and the first semester of my sophomore
year before transferring to Auburn University (Alabama)
due to change of major from Biological Sciences/Pre-med
to Mass Communications. After taking a summer internship
with CNN/TBS out of Miami, I found out that Mass.
Comm. was not for me and I returned to my true love
of science and helping others. I graduated Magna Cum
Laude from Auburn University in May of 2007 with a B.A.
in psychology. In August of 2007 I started graduate school
at Valdosta State University (Valdosta, Ga) in the clinical/
counseling psychology Master’s program. I will be graduating
August 1, 2009 as Valedictorian of the program! I
have been accepted to the University of Iowa Ph.D. program
in School Psychology which I will begin mid-August.
Within the (at least) 6-year program, I will focus my research
on Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.
Boomer Labriola
I went to CSCA from 1st grade to 12th grade and graduated
in 2003. After CSCA I played college baseball at
Lynn University for two years on a scholarship; my sophomore
year I blew out my knee and proceeded to get my
real estate license when I was 19 years old. I currently
work with The DuPree Team/The Keyes Company Real-
8 | The Legacy
tors as a Buyer/Listing Specialist; we are based out of
Coral Springs/Parkland. I am also in the entertainment
management industry as well; I am currently the Tour
Manager for Liza Minnelli. Last but not least, I am a Diamond
Director for a network marketing company which
is TRIPS.
Amanda Dianne Tarr
I attended CSCA from September 2001 and graduated
class of 2003. I had a short but wonderful stay at CSCA.
After graduation I packed up and moved to Fort Worth,
TX to attend Texas Christian University (TCU - GO
FROGS!!!). I graduated from TCU in May of 2007 with
a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies with an
emphasis in Business. I relocated again to Savannah, GA
to be closer to my family and open a company with my
father, called 1800Radiator. We sell aftermarket radiators
and A/C condensers for cars, primarily to auto repair
shops. I was the Director of Sales and Customer Service
for a year and half and have since decided that I dislike
working in sales and want to teach middle school mathematics
and coach soccer! I am currently in the midst of
that career change and part of that process is getting into
a master’s program, most likely at Georgia Southern University.
I look forward to reading about how everyone is
doing!
Kelly Kuter
I attended CSCA from kindergarten in 1990 all the way
until graduation in 2003. After that I headed to FAU to
start my undergrad career studying biology and chemistry,
got really involved on campus, and loved every second
of it. Then I transferred to UF, joined a sorority, had a
lot of fun, and graduated in 2006. I started grad school
the following fall at UF for pharmacy. I am currently in
my third year. In 3 weeks I start clinical rotations where
I will be traveling around the state working at different
hospitals and pharmacies dealing directly with patients
and optimizing their medication regimens. Next May I
will graduate with my Doctorate in Pharmacy. I am so
very blessed that this is my life! After graduation, I am
considering doing a residency in infectious disease or oncology,
the two areas that interest me most. At this time,
I am unsure, but I am excited to see what comes next! I
think back on CSCA and have a lot of great memories
from my years there. Even the backwood Gainesville people
laugh when I say that I graduated with only 39 other
people. I’m very happy to see how much both CSCA and
all of my fellow Crusaders have grown in just a few short
years!
Amanda Devlugt
I graduated in 03 and started college up at Flagler College.
Finished my major in Business Management and
International Finance at UNF and from there was transferred
with my current Hotel Management up to good ole
Maryland. Traveled around the country and Spain for a
year, training managers and auditing hotels for them. I’m
finally settled, with my Masters in Hospitality Management,
managing a Hilton in Baltimore until Dec. After
that, who knows!

Hey everyone! I attended CSCA from kindergarten all the way up to
graduating class of 2004. I then attended the University of Florida
and graduated December of 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology,
specialization in Animal Science. I am working as a veterinary
nurse and absolutely loving it. My job brings something new and interesting
every single day, and I wake up excited to go to work every
morning. I am extremely excited to be moving to Los Angeles with
Steven Crowley (who I met at CSCA in 7th grade, also class of 2004)
at the end of the month. He has had a lot of success doing what he
loves, acting. He’ll be appearing next in the February 10th episode of
Without a Trace. We are very blessed, and excited to see where life
will take us!!
Stevie Neale
I started attending CSCA in preschool circa 1990 and 14 short (which
at the time seemed long) years later I was graduated and on my way
to attend the University of West Florida. I have recently finished a
double major in Musical Theatre and Political Science Pre-Law and
will be technically graduating in May with honors. During my time
at UWF, I participated in 13 plays and musicals, co-founded a touring
Musical Theatre Troupe, worked as the assistant to the Education
and Outreach Director of the Pensacola Opera, finished an honors
thesis, studied Dante’s “Inferno” in Florence, interviewed Congress
members and staffers in D.C., trained to be a yoga instructor, and
many other things that would make this already extensive bio far
too long. I am currently working as the youth minister at a Nazarene
church in Pensacola and have plans to pursue a Master’s in Religious
Studies and then to continue in the ministry wherever God leads.
And perhaps one day, actually use my undergraduate degrees.
Christine Chessler
I graduated from CSCA in 2004 after attending for 13 long years! In
August of that same year I started my undergrad work at the University
of South Florida and graduated in May 2008 with a Bachelor
of Science degree in Biology. Immediately after graduation I took advantage
of my first summer off and went backpacking through Europe
which turned out to be an amazing life experience! As of August
2008 I moved to Valdosta, Georgia and started my Masters degree
in Biology, with a concentration in Conservation Biology, at Valdosta
State University. Right now I teach two freshmen introductory
Biology labs in addition to conducting my thesis’ research focused
on threatened gopher tortoises. I’m excited to see where my Masters
degree will take me--but I’ve got until May 2010 to wait for that! :)
Melanie Manson
I transferred from Florida Atlantic University in 2005 and headed up
to Kennesaw State University near Atlanta to finish my bachelor’s
degree in Early Childhood Education. I will graduate fall 2009! (Finally!)
After I graduate I plan to stay and teach here because I love
it oh so much! Not married or anything yet, but my 2 dogs keep me
company :) Hi everyone!
Rachel Keller
I graduated in 2004 and headed to Tallahassee with the intentions
of attending FSU, majoring in Criminology and then attending law
school. Well I did part of it, I attended FSU, majored in Criminology
and English but instead of law school, I attended Pat Thomas
Law Enforcement Academy. I decided to stay in Tallahassee and have
been a deputy with the Leon County Sheriff’s Office for a year. I
graduated FSU in December of 2007. Take care...
I attended CSCA all the way from preschool until I graduated
in 2004. I then attended the University of Central
Florida in Orlando, Florida. I graduated in 4 years with
a B.S. in Health Sciences with a concentration in Athletic
Training and a minor in Health Sciences. I graduated with
honors from the Burnett Honors College and was named
Most Likely to Succeed by my classmates in Athletic Training
Education. Since graduating, I have become a Certified
Athletic Trainer and licensed in the state of Georgia. I
moved to Macon, GA where I currently attend Mercer University
pursuing a M.Ed. in collaborative education while
I work as an athletic trainer for the Men’s Soccer, Baseball,
and Cheerleading/Dance teams. I am currently finishing
up my thesis after one year. I will be working and studying
this summer and traveling to the Olympic Training Center
in Colorado.
Tim Siegel
I started attending CSCA my junior year and graduated
in 2004. I attended Liberty University, where I received
a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Graphic Design.
Upon graduating, I took a full time position at my university
as a graphic designer for their computer lab and
am also a supervisor there. I am starting on my MBA in
2 weeks, and am planning on sitting for the first actuary
exam in November.
Elyse Morichetti
I attended CSCA from preschool until 12th grade and
graduated in 2004. After graduation, I moved up to Orlando
to attend the University of Central Florida. I will be
graduating in May with my Bachelors in Athletic Training
and a minor in Fitness Training. I will be sitting for the
certification exam in a couple months, and I will be working
as an athletic trainer for a year before going back to
school to get my doctorate in physical therapy.
Stuart Jones
I attended CSCA from 6th to 12th grade, class of 2004. I
have been attending UCF for the last 5 years. It’s all about
10 | The Legacy
the victory lap. I will graduate this May 2009 with a degree
in Digital Media: Visual Language, which is basically
Computer Animation with a funny name. The last year
and a half, my classmates and I have been making a 3D
animated movie named, “Atlas’ Revenge”. I am extremely
proud to be a part of this increasingly beautiful, collaborative
piece. I plan on finding animation and art work where
ever I can after I graduate. I am very grateful for CSCA,
I always look back at my years there in fondness. Go Crusaders!
Samantha Elura Tiemann
I went to CSCA from 2000 and graduated in 2004. Upon
graduation I went to UCF until 2007 and moved to Washington
State to follow my family. I bought a house with
an indoor pool teaching swimming while attending Eastern
Washington University which my family has a long
line of alumni. I swam my whole life and started teaching
when CSCA didn’t have a team. It is something I’ve
done throughout college. My business ended up taking off
and I teach swimming, water aerobics and train people for
triathlons on a full-time basis. I now have well over 100
clients and have 3 employees. I am still attending college
to obtain my Criminal Justice, Sociology and Psychology
degrees. I’m more ambitious than ever! My life has been
so blessed and I’ve been shown all the right doors to lead
a successful life.
Erik Peter Swanson
I went to CSCA from the middle of 1998 until I graduated
with the class of 2004. I had a good time and made a lot of
friends, some I still keep in touch with. I am now living in
Brunswick, Maine and I am stationed at Naval Air Station
Brunswick. I am a Thermodynamic Propulsion Engineer,
which is just a fancy way of saying jet engine mechanic, in
the U.S Navy. I love it so far but I’ll see where it takes me
in the future. I definitely miss South Florida and all my
friends. I hope everyone is doing well!
Jordan Dotson
I started at CSCA during my sophomore year
and graduated in 2004. No longer a Crusader,
I spent a semester at Tallahassee Community
College, a misguided year in the Marine
Corps, and eventually ended up in Dallas,
Texas. Ultimately I know now that this was
all God’s plan. Seriously, I don’t just say that
as a cheap excuse for mistakes. God has completely
changed my life! It’s amazing what
can happen when you let Him in. For starters
He gave me the most unbelievable woman of
God that I get to call my wife! Since moving
to Texas I have been attending Southwestern
Assemblies of God University (you probably
haven’t heard of it) and I am preparing to
graduate this May ‘09 with a degree in Pastoral
Ministry. In terms of jobs I am currently
the cleaning lady for my uncles doctor’s office
(don’t laugh because it’s true). As for the
rest of my life I am waiting to see what God
has for me. Until I know my next move, I will
continue to serve the Lord through being a
faithful, loving husband.
Morgan Mullins
I graduated from CSCA in 2004 and started
FAU that summer. I stayed there for 2 years
before switching to Palm Beach Community
College where I got into the Nursing program.
I graduated from PBCC in May 2008
with my RN. I started working at Broward
General Medical Center in Ft. Lauderdale
that June. I am currently working on the
stroke floor there and love every minute of
it. It is a very challenging but rewarding job
and I can’t imagine doing anything else.
Dustin Price
I started my time at CSCA in preschool in
1991 and graduated in 2004. I started college
at the University of Miami and transferred
to the University of Pennsylvania after a
year. I graduated Penn in 2008 with a B.S.
finance and accounting. I am now working
at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, an investment
bank in New York. CSCA definitely had a
large impact on my life, and I’m glad to have
spent so many years there.
Vincent J. Kish 04
I Graduated CSCA in 2004. I attended college
online from start to finish and finished
my MBA in 4 ½ years. I graduated Magna
Cum Laude and have been part of the National
Scholars Honor Society since 2008. I
currently work as a Financial Representative
for Metropolitan Life where God has blessed
me with success. I hold a P-15 life, health and
variable annuities license from the state of
Florida and a Series 6 Securities license from
the NASD. I received the top freshmen award
in 2008 for most overall sales in the Nation
and the Super Starter award for most sales
in the first quarter for 2008 and have already
achieved that level for 2009. I also have the
LUTC industry designation which I earned
a few weeks ago. Last November I was engaged
to my long time high school sweetheart
Nayara Chagas after 8 years of dating, who
accompanied me to CSCA’s Junior and senior
proms. We are getting married 01/09/2010 at
Benevento’s in Boynton Beach and currently
looking for our first house!
Alex Montilla
I started going to CSCA in 5th grade and
graduated in 2004. I then went to the University
of Miami where I graduated with a
double major in Motion Pictures and Creative
Writing and a minor in Theatre Arts in
2008. I currently live in Los Angeles where I
am a video editor. I’m a writer, director and
editor trying to break into filmmaking. I got
my start making movies by doing the morning
announcements at CSCA, so my time
there is very special to me.
After attending CSCA for 10 years, I graduated
with the class of 2005. That summer I
moved to Orlando and attended both Valencia
and UCF receiving my AA in Business
Administration. After 3 years I was ready to
set up the next stage of my life and transferred
to the University of Tennessee (where
I originally planned to attend, but backed
out last minute before Freshman year) I finally
felt I was ready and God was pointing
me in that direction. For the past 6 months
I’ve been living here in Knoxville, majoring
in Communications with a minor in Bus. Administration
and have never been happier =)
I attended CSCA for 11th and 12th grade, after graduating
from CSCA in 2005 I went to FAU where I am finishing up
my bachelors degree in Criminal Justice. I will be pursuing
a career in law enforcement upon graduating; I hope to be
in a police academy within the year.
Mariafernanda Vargas
I enrolled at CSCA in my sophomore year of high school. I
graduated in 2005 and have attended both the Lake Worth
and Boca Raton campus @ PBCC. I will be graduating in
spring ‘09 with my A.S. in Hospitality/Management. It
took me awhile due to taking time off from school to work
in hotels to gain experience. I will then be attending either
FAU/FIU to receive my bachelors in Public Relations. My
greatest friends are some of the people I met at CSCA. God
has been very good to me, and I am very excited to see
where He will lead me in the future.
O CSCA, a place of my fondest memories, well most of them
anyway. I started attending CSCA for prescchool-1 grade.
Second grade I left and came back to CSCA from 6-12.
Upon graduating in 2005, I attended FAU for a year where
I majored in theatre but then switched to pre-med because
I thought I would look good in scrubs. When I received my
course schedule for pre-med, I dropped it instantly. After
my first year at FAU where I also did a production of
“Oklahoma!,” I decided to head up north to good ole’ Tallahassee
where I received my AA in Special Education at
Tallahassee Community College and then transferred to
Florida State University where I majored in Family and
Child Sciences. I will be returning to my stomping grounds
as a proud Borrowing Owl at glorious FAU. After I receive
my BA in Exceptional Student Education, I will be going
for my Masters in Social Work. I ultimately want to become
a counselor in a juvenile detention center or prison. I have
gone through an IMMENSE amount of real world situations
since CSCA and it has left me stronger and clearer
direction. CSCA will always be a great place to me. Thanks
to everyone who made CSCA, CSCA.
I attended CSCA for my sophomore through senior year,
graduating in 2005 with many great friends. Immediately
after graduation I moved to Tampa to attend the University
of South Florida that fall. Since then I have been supporting
myself with a part/full time job and will be graduating
this May ‘09 with my Bachelor in Finance and a minor in
Management. I have been very blessed and have full faith
that God will place me with the right job upon graduation.
I transferred to CSCA during 11th grade and graduated
in 2005. I enrolled into University of North Florida and
received my Bachelors in Criminal Justice and Psychology
in Dec. 2008. I plan on getting a sponsorship with Jacksonville
Sheriff Office and attend their police academy. I will
also get my Master in Social Work in the coming years...
after I enroll in a university that has that Master program.
Kassie Sutter
I attended CSCA from 4th grade until I graduated in 2005.
Upon graduating, I moved to Lethbridge, Alberta [Canada]
and attended Lethbridge College where I received my diploma
in Communication Arts - Advertising & Public Relations.
I’m currently working on my Bachelor of Professional
Arts degree, and am majoring in Communication Studies.
I’m set to graduate this April. Throughout my schooling,
I have become interested in graphic design and enjoy doing
freelance design work for companies around Alberta.
I have also volunteered at the United Way Of Lethbridge
& Southern Alberta since my first year of post-secondary
schooling, and help them plan campaigns and design campaign
pieces for them. Upon graduating, I am hoping to
work in Calgary, Alberta in either the public relations or
marketing field, while doing graphic design on the side. Although
I do have to deal with very cold winters and lots of
snow in Southern Alberta, I am thrilled with my decision
to move back to Canada.
homeschooled me for 3rd and 4th grade which led to
my enrollment at CSCS in 1998 for 5th. Needless to say,
CSCA has been a second home for me. Throughout my
years there we had our ups and downs, but it’s the small,
family atmosphere that I enjoyed most. I’ve known people
for ten years now that I still keep in touch with. And what’s
even better is to see just how we’ve all changed in our walk
with Christ! After graduating in 2005, I knew I was being
led by Him toward the military. I enlisted in the US Army
as an Infantryman on 18 Jan 2006. Since then I’ve graduated
from Airborne School and the Non-Commissioned
Officer’s Academy. The Lord has blessed me with a great
battalion to serve with, 1st Battalion 508th Parachute Infantry
Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division at Ft Bragg, NC.
I intend to serve a 2nd tour in Afghanistan as a Sergeant,
then pursue a bachelor’s degree and switch to pilot aircraft
in the US Air Force.

CSCA holds a great place in my heart. I graduated CSCA in
2005. I started two years of preschool, left and began from third
grade on. I grew up and graduated with some pretty amazing
people there. I currently attend Florida Atlantic University in
Boca Raton, and after changing my major several times, I am
finally settled in the college of business as Finance major. I am
also a substitute teacher at CSCA as well as an alumni tutor
for middle schoolers. I love it because I love teaching. A cool
fact about CSCA now is that Nicole Hage’s banner is still in
the gym and everyone either thinks that I am her because of
my last name or she is some sort of relative. (I take no credit
for her great accomplishments, but my last name gets me celebrity
status--thanks Nicole). I have no idea what the future
holds but I look forward to it greatly. God bless.
I attended CSCA all through middle and high school and
graduated with the class of 2005. I have spent the past four
years at the University of Miami and have loved every minute
of it. After changing majors about three or four times I believe
I finally found my niche and will be graduating this May
with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Art. The plan now is
to continue my education and receive my Master’s in Mental
Health Counseling and maybe a PsyD. in Clinical Psychology.
After I get licensed as either a therapist or psychologist I want
to open up my own practice. Until then I spend my time volunteering
where I can, and enjoying the last few months of
undergrad!
I attended CSCS in middle school all the way through graduation
from CSCA as a part of the class of 2005. I had the
opportunity to see our school change in many ways, with
the transformation of our blacktop basketball court to one
of the best gyms in the county as well as being a part of the
founding tackle football team (aka the Band of Brothers). I
am happy to say that I am a CSCA Alum. After graduation
I went to the Coral Springs Fire Academy as well as the Broward
Fire Academy to pursue a career as a Firefighter/Paramedic
with an emphasis on Technical Rescue and Special
Operations. I have recently been hired with the American
Red Cross as a health and safety services instructor focusing
on aquatic safety. There is a possibility that I may be joining
the Air force in the near future as they have been recruiting
me to be an Air Force instructor for the Special Forces, but
only time will tell. I hope all is well with everyone.
I came to CSCA during 7th Grade and I graduated in 2006.
That fall I enrolled at Nova Southeastern University to pursue
a career in Finance. Ever since I enrolled I have been very
active on campus. I became a member of the Kappa Sigma
Fraternity; a group of men who have helped me become a better
student as well as a better friend. I am also a member
of the Finance and Economics Association. I recently got engaged
and could not be any happier. My plan is to graduate
in the spring of 2010 with a major in Finance and soon after
move on to grad school to attain my Masters in Finance.
I came to CSCA during my sophomore year and I graduated in
2006. I was quickly thrown into college life at UCF the summer
after I graduated and loved every minute of it. I met a
great group of guys who had never heard of CSCA but coincidentally
all live in the Pembroke Pines area. After 2 years of
confusion and a lot of random classes, I finally decided on a
major and am currently pursuing Business Management with
a minor in Marketing or Psychology (still undecided on that).
Because I love UCF so much I am currently on the 5.5 year
plan and will hopefully graduate sometime in the summer or
fall of 2010 but possibly the spring of 2011. I still enjoy sports
and spend my free time at the gym and puttering around the
campus frisbee golf course; I may play IM beach volleyball
with my roommate this spring. I would strongly encourage
anyone graduating from CSCA to pursue college in the summer;
it was a great way to meet people and made getting used
to a new place and campus so much easier.
I graduated in 2006 and went to Palm Beach Atlantic University
for my freshman year. My parents and sister decided that
they wanted a change of scenery, and moved to Tallahassee. I
went with them, transferring to Florida State University in
the summer of 2007. I’m studying Studio Art, with an emphasis
in photography, and plan on graduating in May 2010. I am
a volunteer leader for a ministry called Young Life and work
with middle school kids. I love it! I spent a month during the
summer of 2008 volunteering at a Young Life camp in British
Columbia, Canada, and it was the best month of my life, hands
down. Excited to see what the future holds.
Hey everyone :) I attended CSCA from pre-school until 5th
grade and then moved to New Jersey. I shortly returned and
continued 8th grade until I graduated in 2006 at CSCA. I was
accepted into Virginia Tech and my entire family moved with
me. I only attended VT for a short time before I felt God calling
me to move back in with my family and help out with some
finances. God was watching over me because a few months
after I left VT, the April 16th shooting occurred in a building
I had taken classes in. God is good. I currently live in Fredericksburg,
VA and I love it. I am not back in school yet but
I am paying off some necessary bills so I am able to get back
into school debt free. I am currently working at Capital One
in Richmond, VA. My life is not how I expected it to be but I
love it nonetheless. I am so thankful for all the years I spent
at CSCA and I love all my memories I have. I miss everyone
so much :)
Hello there fellow alumni. Since my 13 years at CSCA ended
I’ve been doing what most of the rest of you have been
up to, trying to get a piece of paper that says I’m smart. I
began college at “The Citadel” but quickly learned that it
simply was not for me. After that I transferred to Florida
Gulf Coast University where I have been ever since. Life
is good although it seems to be going by faster and faster
every day. I hope all is well with everyone and if you feel
the urge to come to sunny Fort Myers please feel free to
look me up so we can grab some lunch and reminisce on
everything that made CSCA the place we all came to love
sooner or later.
Bridget Carney
I attended CSCA from 7th through 12th grade and graduated
with the class of 2006. Since then I have been at Florida
State University where I joined Kappa Kappa Gamma
which has taken CSCA’s place as my second home. I will
graduate in December 2009 with a B.S. in Family and Child
Sciences. After graduating from FSU, I plan to attend an
accelerated nursing program at Florida Atlantic University
and become a pediatric nurse. I still remain good friends
with many of my CSCA classmates and will never forget
the many memories of the time I spent at CSCA.
Heather Hendricks
I attended CSCA for my freshman year and didn’t have
the best year. I talked my parents into letting me do home
school but one Tuesday night my stepdad got me in the
car and took me to youth group. After meeting the people
I decided to go to CSCA and it was the greatest decision I
ever made. It changed my life completely around for the
better. I graduated in 2006 and moved to Tampa to support
myself and eventually get enrolled in college. As it turns
out I fell in love before I ever started college and now I’m
living in Melbourne with my wonderful significant other
josh and our gorgeous son Cameron I still talk to some of
my teachers that really had an impact on me. In some ways
I believe I owe my life to the teachers and administrators
at CSCA and no matter what they were always there for
me and helped me in high school. I am proud to be a CSCA
alumnus!
Kelli Chamberlain-Caro
I was one of a select group that spent their entire schooling
at CSCA. I started there before preschool and graduated in
2006. After graduating I started attending Florida Atlantic
University. I am majoring in Political Science and a second
major which is still being determined, and hopefully
graduating in May 2010. I attend Calvary Chapel Plantation
where I volunteer with the middle school girls and
love it! God has been doing amazing things in my life and
have been learning so much. I enjoy hanging out with my
fellow volunteers that have become my really close friends.
Michael Caro (the brother of my best friend and classmate,
Julia Caro.) and I were married May 16th, 2009. :)
Angélique Sturm
I graduated from CSCA in 2006 and ever since, I’ve been
an art major at the University of Mobile in Mobile, Ala-
14 | The Legacy
bama. The real South is quite a change from Florida, let
me tell you! I really love it here, and I’ve seen God work in
so many ways in my life. I know this is where I’m supposed
to be right now and I can see Him blessing my steps and
guiding me along even in the toughest times. I recently
stumbled upon a HUGE passion of mine: photography. I
didn’t have a clue I’d be interested in that until my third
year in college, but it has been so much fun playing around
in the darkroom and doing photo shoots of all my friends. I
still stay in touch with a handful of people from CSCA and
when I was last home for Christmas, I did a photo shoot of
one of them!
Christina Taylor
I started attending CSCA when I was in 4th grade and
graduated high school in 2006. That summer I went to
UCF where I still attend. I was originally a nursing major
but am now a sports and fitness major with a specialization
in human performance. I plan to graduate in august
of 2010. I work the recreation and wellness center on campus
as a group exercise and spin instructor, and also as
a sport club supervisor. I am also on the sports club exec
board and am vice president of the triathlon club. I started
competing in triathlon about a year and a half ago and
very recently signed on with a professional coach for a collegiate
developmental program. I hope to get my pro card
within the next year and take the sport to a whole new
level. If that doesn’t work out I would like to someday open
my own gym, and coach other triathletes out of it. CSCA is
definitely where I started my love of sports and made great
memories. I wouldn’t trade it for the world!!!
Margaux Deja
I graduated from CSCA in 2006. I transferred from public
school in 8th grade and did all my high school there. I miss
the close community and the people at CSCA! I am a in my
second to last semester at Emory University in Atlanta. I
was originally pre-med and like many changed my mind
and I am now an Anthropology and Human Biology Major
and a Global Health minor. I work part time at Starbucks,
which helps fill my caffeine addiction. I plan on going into
the Peace Corps when I graduate and then getting a Masters
in Public Health and a Nursing Degree and working
with infant and maternal nutrition.

Timothy Trieu
I graduated in 07’ and am currently enrolled as a C3C (sophomore)
at the United States Air Force Academy, looking to be a
fighter pilot. I’m majoring in foreign area studies with a minor
in Japanese. If I do not make the cut for Pilot I’ll serve my five
years and look to get my MBA. I may participate in deployed
operations to the Middle East next summer, but nothing is for
sure. I will graduate with my class May 2011 and be commissioned
as an Air Force 2nd Lt. Hope ya’ll are doing well.
Micaela Rossetti
Hey everyone! I attended CSCA from 2nd grade till I graduated
in 07! CSCA is practically my second home since it was
the only school I attended after leaving Argentina. I am currently
a Hokie, and love every minute of it! Virginia Tech is
the perfect college for me. I am currently pursuing my B.A.
in International Studies- Global Development with a Spanish
minor. Freshman year I became the fundraiser chair of the
International Relations Organization. Through the organization,
I have learned so much which has only made me more
excited about my field of work. I’ll be leaving to go to Spain in
spring 2010 and travel Europe with some of my fellow Hokies
through a study abroad program.
Even though it is so far from home, VT has been great. I love
the Hokie spirit and all the friends I have made here. I can
definitely see why people say college will be the best years of
years of your life. Hope everyone is doing well! God bless:]
Thanks CSCA!
John McDonnell
I attended CSCA from 8th grade up to my graduation in 2007.
After graduation I went to Boston to attend Suffolk University.
I am so happy with where I am; the people I met in the
past two years are a group of the best people in my life, I am
lucky, I know that. I am studying marketing/advertising. I try
to stay busy, brought a college chapter to my college for The
Smile Train, the leading cleft lipped and palate charity in the
world, working to make cleft a thing of the past, changing the
world one smile at a time.
Activities I am in at School-
* President of Suffolk Smile Train
* Advertising Chair and Film Series Chair for Suffolk
Program Council
* Suffolk University Trustee Ambassador
* Suffolk Orientation Leader
* Member of Anti Genocide Coalition
* Member of Professional Marketing Association
I encourage anyone who has the opportunity to go to school
out of state to do so. Moving to Boston was the one of the best
decisions I have ever made. I valued my time at CSCA
Vanessa Alexandra
I attended CSCA from Preschool all the way to my senior year
in 07 ‘! After that I was accepted into Lee University and because
of my passion for music I joined the Voices of Lee where
I met my Fiancée (Joshua Peavy). I missed home so much I
came back to Coral Springs and took a break from school, and
taught dance and musical theatre at the Coral Springs Acting
Studios. In August 2008 I decided to try out for American Idol
where Joshua Peavy and I auditioned together. There were
15,000 people there so we actually didn’t get to audition, but
because of us not being able to audition we got to spend more
time together. In time I met his family. His father is the Senior
Pastor at The Sanctuary on Waldroup Ave in Douglas Georgia
and Joshua is the Youth Pastor/Music Minister. So basically
it was a match made in heaven! God brought us together and
in October 2008 he proposed and I accepted. Joshua and I
are getting married May 23, 2009 in Douglas Georgia! I miss
CSCA, and I love everyone there! God Bless.
I attended CSCA from preschool through graduation in 2007
(14 years!!). I am now a sophomore at the University of Miami
double majoring in Media Management and Economics with a
possible minor in Business Administration. I still have no idea
what I want to do when I am done, but so far I am LOVING
my time at The U. It is also great to still be close enough to
stop by and visit CSCA every once in a while. :)
Cameron Levinson
Hey everybody! The old CSCA family gotta love it. Basically
I attended CSCA from 7th grade to graduation in 07!!! Then
went on to Valencia Community College and after 2 years have
decided to go straight into working. I just recently got my real
estate license and I am working for my dad’s company. All is
well with me and I hope everything is going great for everyone
else! Miss you guys. God Bless.
I attended CSCA for preschool, middle school, and half of my high school
career. I chose to go back to CSCA and graduate with my class of 2007.
I am currently finishing my sophomore year at FAU. This summer I
enrolled with a study abroad program that will be traveling to Orvieto,
Italy. I will be taking 2 classes during my 6-week visit. When I return,
I will continue to earn my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
After that, my plan is to start in the Communication Sciences and Disorders
Graduate Program at either FAU or Nova to earn my master’s
in speech and Language Pathology. Speech Pathology is a field that I
have grown to love throughout my life. Since my senior year I have been
working at a local Speech office. I’m blessed to work with such amazing
people whom I learn so much from each day. I love everything about the
field that I have chosen to pursue and am anxious for all the wonderful
(and difficult) cases I will come across.
Laurel Hoffman
I attended CSCA from preschool to 12th grade and graduated in 2007.
I am currently in my sophomore year at Covenant College and I absolutely
love it! I am pursuing a degree in Secondary History Education
and plan on teaching history when I graduate in 2011. I have had the
best time at Covenant College and would not trade this experience and
education for anything! God has placed many amazing people in my life,
and it is so refreshing to be in such a wonderful Christian environment
where people are truly seeking to serve God on a day-to-day basis. I am
so thankful for all of the blessings God has placed in my life.
Ashley Marie Taylor
I attended CSCA from 3rd to 12th grade and graduated in 2007. I went
to FGCU in the fall of 2007 but quickly realized it wasn’t for me. I came
back and went to FAU in the fall of 2008 while I figured out what I really
wanted to do. I did a lot of thinking and realized UF had always
been the only school I ever wanted to go to but never thought I had the
grades to get in. My dad suggested I go to Santa Fe in Gainesville to
get my AA and then transfer. So in August 2008 I moved to Gainesville
and have been attending Santa Fe College. I LOVE it here!!!!! I only
regret I hadn’t come here sooner! Then on February 24th I got my acceptance
letter into UF and am starting classes there this summer! I
will be studying Public Relations and possibly building construction. I
plan on rushing and getting involved in student government and taking
my last years as an undergrad slow. 5 year plan, here I come. After
I get my bachelors I’m planning on taking a semester off and doing
something completely random before going back for grad school. I have
such a drive for education now that I never had in high school and am
absolutely loving everything college has to offer.
From kindergarten through 5th grade I was a student of CSCS. I went
to two different schools for 6th and 7th grade, after which I decided to
return to CSCA for high school. After graduating I went to Full Sail
University where I graduated with my Associates of Science in Recording
Arts. I met a group of nice kids there in a band who needed a bass
player, I started playing bass while going to CSCA and have always
enjoyed playing so I joined in and have been playing with them ever
since. We got signed by Statik Factory Records and just recorded our
first full-length album to be released in June of this year. I am currently
working at 37 studios in Michigan as a recording and mix engineer. I
plan to start touring and attempting to see as much of the world as possible
when the album is released. I plan to also return to Full Sail for
Music Business in the future.
Amanda Jane Daginella
I attended CSCA from 7th to 12th grade. I graduated in 2007.
I was on the Varsity Cheerleading Team for the crusaders. I
am finishing up my sophomore year at Florida State University
and I am in the middle of applying to get into the college
of education for my major which is Elementary Education. My
plan is to graduate in 2011 with my Bachelors and most likely
attend FSU for a fifth year to earn my masters in Elementary
Education. Then I want to move back to somewhere in South
Florida and teach the first grade. I am enjoying my classes,
the coursework, the professors, and all that goes into college.
I am enjoying the full college experience up here in Tallahassee.
It is such a different way and sense of living up here. I
am involved in a lot of clubs and activities on campus and I
have so far gone to ever single football game and I do not plan
on missing any. I am enjoying my life to the fullest and God
has given me a wonderful life that I couldn’t have asked for
anything better.
Kels Thor
I graduated in 2007 and had been attending CSCA since kindergarten,
hurray for being a faculty-kid. Currently I am a
sophomore at SCAD-Atlanta (Savannah College of Art and
Design) and am majoring in Illustration and minoring in Sequential
Art. Hopefully I can get involved with fashion illustration
and poster art for bands and such or work for Adult
Swim. I love Atlanta and am so happy at my school! I will
graduate in 2011 with my class and may do graduate school. I
am very excited for the future and am just working hard and
enjoying life. Glad to hear everyone is doing well!
Adam Kuebler
I started 8th grade at CSCA in 2003 and graduated in 2008.
I am currently attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
studying Air Transport Management. I am the Vice-
President of the Collegiate Entrepreneurship Organization, a
member of the Society for Advancement of Management, and
Campus Outreach. Along with three other partners, I have
started an online business called Eagle-Trade.com. We expect
it to be profitable later this summer and to expand to a campus
near you. If any alumni are interested in having this site
on their campus please contact me at adam.kuebler@eagletrade.com.
I am loving life up here but do miss all of you at
CSCA. Hope everyone is doing well and God Bless.
Karla Candelaria
I started attending CSCA in 2006. I was a sophomore and absolutely
loved it! During the end of my junior year, I found out
my parents would be moving to New York so I was given the
option to graduate early. I figured out that I had enough credits
so I did! I graduated in the year 2008 at age 17 and am now
attending UCF as a nursing major. I plan on getting my masters
in Nursing so that I can continue on and be a Physician’s
Assistant. CSCA formed me into a God-loving young lady and
gave me the necessary tools to succeed in life. I definitely miss
that school more than anything! I am more than proud to have
graduated from CSCA
