Dr. Harris said she was proud to report that 1,600 additional students have opted to<br />

attend classes at the college this summer. She added that this is a 13 percent<br />

increase from Summer 2008 and the largest leap in summer enrollment in recent<br />

years. Additionally, she said the Wildwood campus has seen a 44 percent increase<br />

in enrollment. She then congratulated Dr. Joanie Friend, the Enrollment<br />

Management team and <strong>St</strong>udent Affairs staff on a job well done.<br />

Dr. Harris thanked Ms. Chance and her staff for their work on the <strong>2009</strong>/2010<br />

budget. She congratulated Mr. Bruce Vogelgesang on his appointment to the<br />

position <strong>of</strong> controller, and thanked Mr. Frank LoRusso on his service to the<br />

college.<br />

Mr. David Thompson appeared on behalf <strong>of</strong> campus ministry and asked for a<br />

report from the <strong>Board</strong> following his visit at the May meeting. Mr. Nelson advised<br />

Mr. Thompson that the <strong>Board</strong> had agreed to follow the recommendation <strong>of</strong> the<br />

administration.<br />

Ms. Gyla Myers, Meramec <strong>St</strong>udent, appeared before the <strong>Board</strong> to ask if there is<br />

anything the students could do to stop the 2010 closure <strong>of</strong> the campus day care<br />

center. Mr. Nelson advised Ms. Myers that the <strong>Board</strong> will rely on information<br />

from the administration in making a decision on day care center closure.<br />

Ms. Anna Woodard, Meramec <strong>St</strong>udent, appeared before the <strong>Board</strong> to address the<br />

issue <strong>of</strong> the child care center closing.<br />

Citizens Desiring to Address the <strong>Board</strong> Regarding Other Concerns<br />

NEW BUSINESS<br />

Ms. Chachere gave a report from the Foundation <strong>Board</strong> <strong>of</strong> Director’s meeting. She<br />

asked trustees to consider 100 percent <strong>Board</strong> participation to the annual fund, and<br />

advised that there were four more days remaining until the fiscal year deadline.<br />
