Recorded from two sites, including Clothiers Creek<br />

Road, in Tweed–Brunswick Brush Box foothill wet<br />

sclerophyll forest <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> Tweed–Brunswick Valley<br />

subtropical rainforest communities <strong>on</strong> metasedimentary<br />

hills.<br />

Arthrochilus prolixus 2K<br />

A poorly known orchid species, it was recorded at<br />

four sites, including Wardell, Tweed Envir<strong>on</strong>mental<br />

Park near Pottsville, <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> near Brunswick Heads. The<br />

species is also found in Queensl<str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g>. It was recorded<br />

<strong>on</strong> Quaternary s<str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g>s, high sedimentary quartz soils,<br />

<str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> estuarine soils, in Swamp Box (Lophostem<strong>on</strong><br />

suaveolens) open forest <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> dry sclerophyll forest <strong>on</strong><br />

high sedimentary quartz soils <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> coastal s<str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g>plains.<br />

Bosistoa transversa Vulnerable (TSC)<br />

Three-leaved Bosistoa.<br />

Recorded in two sites in subtropical rainforest at<br />

Terranora <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> Tweed River. It was in subtropical<br />

rainforest <strong>on</strong> basalt <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> meta-sedimentary lowelevati<strong>on</strong><br />

rolling hills.<br />

Brun<strong>on</strong>iella spiciflora Rare (NSW)<br />

This species is apparently rare in NSW, where it has a<br />

sou<strong>the</strong>rn limit <strong>on</strong> <strong>the</strong> FNC. The species extends into<br />

Queensl<str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g>. In <strong>the</strong> present survey, B. spiciflora was<br />

found in two sites, at Reserve Creek <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> Palmdale, <strong>on</strong><br />

lower slope subtropical rainforests <strong>on</strong> sedimentary soils<br />

Callerya australis 3RC<br />

Native Wisteria.<br />

Recorded in three sites, Taggets Hill, Sleepy Hollow<br />

<str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> Terranora, in subtropical rainforest <strong>on</strong> metasedimentary<br />

rolling hills.<br />

Cassia brewsteri var. marksiana Endangered (TSC)<br />

Native Laburnum.<br />

Recorded in two sites, <strong>on</strong> <strong>the</strong> Terranora Plateau <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

Barneys Point, in subtropical rainforest <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> Brush Box<br />

lowl<str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> rainforest.<br />

Cassia brewsteri var. marksiana<br />

Cordyline c<strong>on</strong>gesta 2RC-<br />

Palm Lily.<br />

This species was comm<strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> widespread in <strong>the</strong><br />

study area. It was recorded in 35 sites, from Wardell,<br />

Ballina <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> Tweed Heads. It was a dominant species in<br />

some sites. It was frequently recorded in <strong>the</strong> Wardell–<br />

Tuckean area, <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g>ten <strong>on</strong> alluvial soils <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> coastal barrier<br />

s<str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g>s, but also <strong>on</strong> high sedimentary quartz soils <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g>,<br />

infrequently, <strong>on</strong> estuarine soils. It was found in 11<br />

communities, including swamp sclerophyll forests,<br />

subtropical rainforest, littoral rainforest, Brush Box<br />

forests <str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g> dry open forests.<br />

Corokia whiteana Vulnerable (TSC)<br />

There was a single record <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> this species, in Scribbly<br />

Gum (Eucalyptus signata) dry open forest <strong>on</strong><br />

Pleistocene s<str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g>s, at T<str<strong>on</strong>g>and</str<strong>on</strong>g>ys Lane, near Byr<strong>on</strong> Bay.
