Muzzleloader General Elk <strong>Seasons</strong><br />
License Required:<br />
A valid big game hunting license which<br />
includes elk as a species option.<br />
Elk Tag:<br />
You must choose either an eastern or<br />
western Washington muzzleloader elk<br />
tag. Multi-season tags can also be used.<br />
Elk tag areas are shown on the map on<br />
page 40.<br />
<strong>Hunting</strong> Method:<br />
Muzzleloader only. Muzzleloader<br />
tag holders can hunt only during the<br />
muzzleloader seasons and must<br />
hunt with muzzleloader equipment.<br />
Muzzleloader equipment must meet<br />
muzzleloader regulations on page 70.<br />
Bag Limit:<br />
One elk per hunter during the hunting<br />
season, except for holders of second elk<br />
special permits and Master Hunters who<br />
purchase a 3911 tag. No more than 2 elk<br />
may be harvested per license year.<br />
Season Overlap:<br />
Late muzzleloader elk seasons overlap<br />
late archery deer seasons in GMUs:<br />
• 454 Issaquah<br />
• 505 Mossyrock<br />
• 564 Battleground<br />
• 666 Deschutes<br />
• 667 Skookumchuck<br />
Overlap between elk and cougar<br />
seasons has changed in some areas.<br />
Cougar seasons now have weapon type<br />
restrictions. See page 57-59.<br />
Firearm Restrictions:<br />
The GMU you hunt in may be affected<br />
by a firearm restriction. See page 75<br />
for a full list of Commission-designated<br />
firearm restriction areas by county. Other<br />
firearm restriction areas are established<br />
by local ordinance. Consult your local<br />
sheriff or city for other firearm restriction<br />
areas.<br />
Hunter Orange:<br />
Is required for anyone hunting in an<br />
area open to modern firearm deer or elk<br />
seasons. See page 15.<br />

**Master Hunters who hunt in Elk Area 3911 may purchase a master hunter, Elk Area 3911 elk transport tag to take<br />
a second elk. Only one elk may be taken from Elk Area 3911. Any legal weapon may be used. Master hunter, Elk<br />
Area 3911 second elk transport tags will be valid only for Elk Area 3911 from August 1-October 24, <strong>2010</strong>. All hunters<br />
participating in the Elk Area 3911 hunt must wear hunter orange. Only master hunters with an eastside elk tag can<br />
purchase this 2nd tag.<br />
***Majority of area is private land. Access is limited. Hunters are advised not to try hunting these areas without making<br />
prior arrangements for access.
