Washington's 2010 Big Game Hunting Seasons & Regulations

Muzzleloader General Elk Seasons
License Required:
A valid big game hunting license which
includes elk as a species option.
Elk Tag:
You must choose either an eastern or
western Washington muzzleloader elk
tag. Multi-season tags can also be used.
Elk tag areas are shown on the map on
page 40.
Hunting Method:
Muzzleloader only. Muzzleloader
tag holders can hunt only during the
muzzleloader seasons and must
hunt with muzzleloader equipment.
Muzzleloader equipment must meet
muzzleloader regulations on page 70.
Bag Limit:
One elk per hunter during the hunting
season, except for holders of second elk
special permits and Master Hunters who
purchase a 3911 tag. No more than 2 elk
may be harvested per license year.
Season Overlap:
Late muzzleloader elk seasons overlap
late archery deer seasons in GMUs:
• 454 Issaquah
• 505 Mossyrock
• 564 Battleground
• 666 Deschutes
• 667 Skookumchuck
Overlap between elk and cougar
seasons has changed in some areas.
Cougar seasons now have weapon type
restrictions. See page 57-59.
Firearm Restrictions:
The GMU you hunt in may be affected
by a firearm restriction. See page 75
for a full list of Commission-designated
firearm restriction areas by county. Other
firearm restriction areas are established
by local ordinance. Consult your local
sheriff or city for other firearm restriction
areas.
Hunter Orange:
Is required for anyone hunting in an
area open to modern firearm deer or elk
seasons. See page 15.

a second elk. Only one elk may be taken from Elk Area 3911. Any legal weapon may be used. Master hunter, Elk
Area 3911 second elk transport tags will be valid only for Elk Area 3911 from August 1-October 24, 2010. All hunters
participating in the Elk Area 3911 hunt must wear hunter orange. Only master hunters with an eastside elk tag can
purchase this 2nd tag.
