Artisanal fishery is conducted by local traditional fishermen along the coast in the relatively shallow waters. It involves wooden or fiberglass boats
with a maximum length of 15-18 m. Artisanal fishermen can employ a combination of different gears (beach seine, gill nets, hook and line) and stay at
sea over a period of 8 to 10 days per trip.
