hygrophilus THORELL, Ceratinella scabrosa (O. P.-CAMBRIDGE), Gongylidium rufipes<br />

(SUNDEVALL) and Diplostyla concolor (WIDER). These are all species which prefer more<br />

humid environments. At <strong>the</strong> top we see large and/or old <strong>for</strong>ests (Zoniënwoud, Hallerbos<br />

and Meerdaalwoud) with beech (Fagus sylvatica) as <strong>the</strong> dominant tree species. The indicator<br />

species <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong>se <strong>for</strong>ests are Walckenaeria corniculans (O. P.-CAMBRIDGE), Tegenaria<br />

picta SIMON, Macrargus rufus (WIDER) and Histopona torpida (C. L. KOCH). These are<br />

species which mostly prefer beech-woods with a large quantity <strong>of</strong> dead wood. We have <strong>the</strong><br />
