Lucas, Arthur, Franklin “Doc” (#613455)<br />
71, of Shenandoah died Feb. 11, 1988, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 17,<br />
1916 at Shenandoah and was a s/o the late Journey & Alberta Strole Lucas. He was Page<br />
County's first draftee during World War II. He served as a staff sergeant with the Army's 29th<br />
Division and participated in the Normandy invasion. On July 4, 1946. He married the former,<br />
Ruth Coverstone, who survives. Also surviving are a brother, Leon Lucas of Staunton & 2<br />
sisters, Frances Good & Mae Clem, both of Shenandoah. Burial was in Eastlawn Memorial<br />
Gardens in Harrisonburg.<br />

Hyde. Brother, Elwood Kite of Luray. A granddaughter. Burial in Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton,<br />
