& Clara Strickler Hook. Married in Sep 1917 Marion Rufus Strickler who died 09 Nov 1970.
Daughter-in-law, Lorene M. Strickler of Luray. Nieces & nephews. A son, Ray T. Strickler is
deceased. Burial in Beahm's Chapel Cemetery.

(died 26 Dec 1916) aged 2 yrs. 2 mos. daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Clyde Strole of Shenandoah &
grandchild of Mr. & Mrs. W. J. Sullivan of the same town, died Tuesday after 3 days illness
of spinal meningitis. Funeral at the U. B. church.

FL. Sisters, Lee Jenkins of Camelot Nursing Home of Harrisonburg & Nellie Daniels
of Jacksonville, FL. 1 great grandchild. Burial at UMC Cemetery in Shenandoah.
Strole, George (Mrs.) (#41423)
was killed by lightning 04 July 1911 at her home near Newport while picking cherries. Circumstances
here are meager, though Mrs. Strole was killed instantly. She was the wife of one of
the most prominent farmers of Shenandoah District.
Strole, Mae Virginia (#4689)
age 84 yrs. of Waynesboro died 04 Jan 1992 at Harrisonburg, Va. Born 16 Dec 1907 in Page Co.
d/o the late David Calvin & Martha Henderson Kite. Widow of Walter Strole. Daughter-inlaw,
Martha Strole of Waynesboro. Grandchildren, Brenda S. VanPelt, Deborah S. Kingston
& Dennis L. Strole. 5 great grandchildren. A number of nieces & nephews. A son, Roy Lee
Strole died in 1986. Mrs. Strole was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Burial in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Shenandoah.
Strole, Sarah E. (nee Graves) (#691)
was born in Page Co., Va. 21 Feb 1828 & died 22 Jun 1905, age 77 years 4 months & 1 day.
Married John H. Strole of Vigo County, In. in September 1878 where she lived until the
death of her husband which occurred in 1891, after which she returned to her old home in
Virginia where she resided with her sister, Mrs. W. B. Menefee, until her death. She leaves 2
sisters and a number of other relatives. Interment in the family burying ground. Compton, Va.
Died 22 Jun 1905 at Compton, Page, Va. Died at the residence of her brother-in-law, W. B.
Menefee. She had made her home with him for many years. w/o John H. Strole (dec'd). She
was before marriage Miss Graves. John H. Strole was from Vigo Co., IN & died there in
1891.
