organizations and, if possible, the private sector with a view to providing
and effective protection of the environment:
a) Development and implementation of waste treatment and
disposal methods;
b) Conservation of biological diversity; protection of endangered,
endemic and migratory species of flora and fauna; protection of
the habitats of the species listed herein as well as ecologically
sensitive areas such as wetlands and specially protected areas,
and in this context, preparation of natural resource
management plans;
c) Exchange of information and experience on soil protection and
rehabilitation;
d) Exchange of information and experience in the field of
renewable energy sources.
Article 2
The Parties shall cooperate in the following forms in the fields stated in
Article 1 of the Agreement through:
a) Exchange of information and data on research and development
activities, policies, environmental practices and legal provisions;
b) Coordination of research and monitoring activities when
deemed necessary by the Parties;
c) Organization of joint meetings to be attended by the experts
and officials of the Parties;
d) Organization of technical symposia, conferences and seminars;
e) Preparation and implementation of joint training programmes
in order to train qualified experts in the areas of cooperation
and exchange of experts within this framework;
f) Any other form of cooperation deemed necessary by the
Parties.
Article 3
For the implementation of this Agreement, the Parties shall draw up biannual
work programmes consisting elaborately drawn up concrete
activities envisaged within the framework of this Agreement.
The bi-annual work programmes shall become effective on the day
following the receipt of the last written notification by which the Parties
