“Alfred” had he survived the voyage to Moreton Bay: “Alfred” sailed from<br />

Birkenhead June 1858 – 400 emigrants – arrived Moreton Bay 19 th<br />

September 1858, Mr Brownfield died 7 th September after short illness<br />

Emigrants landed Moreton Bay in good health<br />

Re Mr Brownfield & previous voyages, his conduct & health <strong>of</strong> emigrants –<br />

mentions Certificates from Immigration Agents or Inspectors at Melbourne<br />

and Sydney – Mrs Brownfield is a widow & legal personal representative <strong>of</strong><br />

the deceased her only child - writer is also a relative<br />
