Gabrieli Consort & Players
are world-renowned interpreters
of great choral and
instrumental repertoire from
the renaissance to the present
day. They are regular visitors
to the world’s most prestigious
concert halls and appear
frequently at London’s major
venues. They are committed to working with young musicians and
in 2010 launched the Gabrieli Young Singers’ Scheme. Gabrieli record
for Paul McCreesh’s new record label Winged Lion. Their highly
acclaimed recording of Berlioz’s Grande Messe des Morts will be
followed by three further releases during 2012: A Song of Farewell; A
Venetian Coronation; and Mendelssohn’s Elijah.
Mhairi Lawson Soprano has performed with such companies as
English National Opera, Les Arts Florissants, the
Gabrieli Consort & Players, the Academy of
Ancient Music and the Scottish Chamber
Orchestra. Commercial recordings include
Haydn’s Creation and many of Vivaldi’s works
with La Serenissima. Forthcoming CD releases
include Schubert Lieder. Recent and future
highlights include Galatea in Acis and Galatea,
Iphis in Jephtha, and The Creation (Gabrieli
Consort & Players/McCreesh); Dorinda in
Orlando and Vivaldi’s L’Olimpiade; recitals in the Belfast Festival and
Brighton Early Music Festival; Bach Magnificat; Haydn’s The Seasons;
Handel’s Ottone and Couperin’s Trois Leçons de ténèbres in a
European tour (The King’s Consort).
Paula Chateauneuf Lutenist is a soloist,
accompanist, teacher and linchpin of numerous
early music groups and has earned her
reputation as one of the most respected and
admired musicians in early music. She has been
involved in pioneering work with the groups
Circa 1500, Sinfonye, the New London Consort,
and the Gabrieli Consort & Players, whose
principal lutenist she remains to this day. Her
playing has been described as one of the most
exciting things on the pre-classical concert
circuit; her interest in improvisation, dance music, and basso
continuo has led to a diverse career. She is a sought after accompanist
