3. Horse riding by individuals will not be<br />
permitted in the <strong>Park</strong> except on designated<br />
horse trails within the "horse access area"<br />
(Figure 11). CALM will establish a working<br />
group to recommend to CALM management<br />
where horse trails within the "horse access<br />
area", should be located. (H)<br />
4. Horse-riding zones <strong>and</strong> trails will be closed if<br />
weather conditions, erosion, disease,<br />
degradation <strong>of</strong> vegetation or water resources,<br />
conflict with other users or lack <strong>of</strong> compliance<br />
to conditions <strong>of</strong> use warrant such closure. (H)<br />
5. Encourage horse riders to maintain <strong>and</strong> signpost<br />
approved horse trails <strong>and</strong> to help<br />
establish a code <strong>of</strong> ethics for horse riding<br />
within the <strong>Park</strong>. (M)<br />

32. SPECIAL EVENTS<br />
The objective is to facilitate special events <strong>of</strong> national<br />
significance within the <strong>Park</strong> subject to strict<br />
management guidelines, approvals <strong>and</strong> post event<br />
rehabilitation.<br />
It is possible that during the life <strong>of</strong> this Plan that "one<strong>of</strong>f"<br />
special events may occur in the region which may<br />
seek to use parts <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Park</strong>.<br />
Such events may be permitted to use parts <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Park</strong>,<br />
subject to the approval <strong>of</strong> the NPNCA <strong>and</strong> subject to<br />
the following:<br />
• The event must be <strong>of</strong> national significance;<br />
• Strict hygiene requirements to eliminate the risk <strong>of</strong><br />
spread <strong>of</strong> dieback be enforced;<br />
• where appropriate, all activity must comply with the<br />
requirements <strong>of</strong> a Class 1 Water Catchment, as<br />
approved by the Water Corporation <strong>and</strong> Water <strong>and</strong><br />
Rivers Commission;<br />
• any allowed temporary fixtures, facilities, in support<br />
<strong>of</strong> such event to be removed from the <strong>Park</strong> at event<br />
completion;<br />
• any site disturbance (eg a marked trail) to be<br />
removed <strong>and</strong> rehabilitated at event completion.<br />
STRATEGIES<br />
1. Special events will be allowed subject to the<br />
approval <strong>and</strong> conditions stipulated by the<br />
NPNCA. (H)<br />
2. Approved events must be <strong>of</strong> national significance.<br />

3. Strict hygiene requirements to eliminate the risk<br />
<strong>of</strong> spreading dieback infection be followed (H).<br />
4. Where appropriate, approved "one-<strong>of</strong>f" special<br />
events must be compatible with Class 1 Water<br />
Catchment requirements, approved by the Water<br />
Corporation <strong>and</strong> Water <strong>and</strong> Rivers Commission.<br />

5. Event organiser to be responsible for the removal<br />
<strong>of</strong> any allowed temporary fixtures, facilities, in<br />
support <strong>of</strong> such event from the <strong>Park</strong> at event<br />
completion to the satisfaction <strong>of</strong> the NPNCA.<br />
6. Event organiser to be responsible for the<br />
rehabilitation <strong>of</strong> any site disturbance at event<br />
completion to the satisfaction <strong>of</strong> the NPNCA.
